You had been sent out on a solo-mission. Despite Steve's protests, you headed out without any backup, convincing him that it was a small job and that you were capable of doing it on your own.
At the time, maybe you had been a little too confident and a little cocky in your head. When you arrived at the tiny base, you quickly conquered your enemies. However, there were more surprise agents than you had anticipated.
When Steve got the message that you had been badly injured and were merely alive, he quickly grabbed his jacket and started for the door.
The rest of the team asked where he was going, seeing as it was unusual for him to leave without an explanation.
