You Can't Make a Man

You cannot make a man into someone you want him to be
He is himself, as you are yourself
Neither of you can change your core for the other, and you don't deserve to settle

You cannot make a boy into a man
He will grow and learn and mature as all living things do in time, but it will not be due to you
You shouldn't learn to deal with his immaturity and you can't make him grow up

You cannot make a bad man into better man
Because man is man, and the only thing that changes man is the man himself, or God
You cannot love a man who doesn't yet exist in anyone's mind but your own

You cannot change a boy into a man who you want, the only person people stay true to is themselves but
If you want him, great; grow with him and love him unconditionally but
You cannot love a man for who he could be, because a fictional man can't ever love you back

You cannot love him better)
