Sarah is abducted, and must find a way to save herself--before her abductor kills her.

Sixteen-year-old Sarah Meadows longs for "normal." Born with a port wine stain covering half her face, all her life she’s been plagued by stares, giggles, bullying, and disgust. But when she’s abducted on the way home from school, Sarah is forced to uncover the courage she never knew she had, become a hero rather than a victim, and learn to look beyond her face to find the beauty and strength she has inside. It’s that—or succumb to a killer.

Cheryl Rainfield drew on her own trauma and abuse history to write STAINED, just like she did with SCARS. Like Sarah, Cheryl was held captive, withheld food and water, repeatedly raped, and had mind control used against her. And, like Sarah, Cheryl had to be the one to save herself--over and over again--until she was finally safe.

STAINED is a Bank Street College Center for Children's Literature Best Book of the Year for Ages Fourteen and Up, and a SCBWI Crystal Kite Award finalist.

Cheryl Rainfield is the award-winning author of SCARS, STAINED, and HUNTED.
