Baldi wanders the school, searching. For what, he didn't know, but he knew something wasn't right. He turned the corner, face still expressionless, as it usually would be when no new students were around. He started thinking of what seemed off in the schoolhouse at the time. "The silence is usual... I can hear Playtime across the school... Arts & Crafters is hiding again..." Behind the plant right in front of Baldi sat a terrified sock puppet, with googly eyes attached above the supposed mouth. Like the others, it could feel emotion. A curse Baldi did not understand. It quickly floated away. Baldi continued walking.

"It's A Bully is down the hall... I would hear the doors open if a student was here..." Baldi couldn't put his pixelated finger on it. What could be wrong? Everything seemed exactly the same. But something was wrong, he could sense it. "Are the Founders upset?..." Baldi looked to the walls for a clue.

Screeching, screaming, painful scratching at the brick walls. Baldi shrugged, then continued walking. Those screams meant everything was under control.

Baldi stopped in his tracks. Confused, he looked down to make sure he wasn't stuck. No, everything was fine. Then why did he stop? He wanted to continue, make sure everything was in order, but he couldn't move past the point of the door.

The Detention Room door.

He remembered the time, not too long ago, when he found that The Principal Of The Thing was helping a student cheat. Cheating was something Baldi did not allow. This prompted Baldi to go to the Founders for advice.

"BEAT HIM, BEAT HIM, BEAT HIM. TEACH HIM A LESSON."

They screamed into Baldi's ears until he complied. He did it immediately, knowing that this was going to help them all escape. The Principal Of The Thing was left a weeping, broken code file that Baldi could care less for the state of. He walked out, wiping the blue blood off of his trusty ruler. Leaving The Principal Of The Thing injured and vulnerable.

You may be wondering if Baldi was hurt by the screaming in his ears. The answer is no, he wasn't. He, for a moment, actually forgot that they were there. Baldi has no capability to feel physical pain. He was doing his duty, no matter how immoral, disgusting, or destructive it could be. Another thing about Baldi: He also does not possess emotions. You have most likely figured that out by now. He doesn't get sad, he doesn't feel guilt, and has never been genuinely happy.

"Move," Baldi thought to himself, attempting to move past the invisible barrier in front of him. However, he couldn't. He almost launched himself across the hallway attempting to move forward with his search. However, nothing worked. Instead of walking away entirely, he decided to check inside the Detention Room, just to make sure everything was in order.

Baldi opened the door.

There, The Principal Of The Thing lay, in the same spot Baldi left him in. It appeared as though he hadn't attempted to move at all. He appeared to be dead.

Baldi could not speak. He did not know what was going on. He walked throughout the room, taking good looks at The Principal's condition. Not a word to be said, or an action to perform, came to mind. Something made him uncomfortable. He looked around.

The walls screamed again.

"LEAVE HIM. LEAVE HIM HERE. HE WILL COME AROUND ON HIS OWN TIME. NO WORRYING. CONTINUE."

Scratching, screaming, and the message filled his mind. However, Baldi did not feel like moving. He saw The Principal's eye twitch. He was so confused. What was this feeling? What were the Founders telling him to do? What did it mean? The longer he stared at The Principal, the weirder Baldi felt. Crooked limbs, dark blue fluids oozing out of every crack in his form...

Something inside of Baldi was telling him something. He had an urge. To do what, he didn't know, but he was going to listen to the Founders no matter what. However, before he even got the chance to think, Baldi walked to the corner of the room. He opened a drawer in a nearby desk and pulled out a rag. He walked back over to The Principal and helped him sit upright, leaning against the wall.

The Principal spoke. "Baldi... What... Are... You... Doing..."

Baldi hastily began to wipe the blue substance off of The Principal's body. He didn't say a word. Once the ooze was out of the way, he found the open wounds and put pressure on them. Once one stopped bleeding, he moved onto the next open wound.

Confused, The Principal attempted to look at Baldi. His neck hurt too much. Like Arts & Crafters, as well as everyone else in the school, he possessed emotions and pain. Baldi was the only one without feelings, causing people to want to avoid interaction with him. The Principal, on rare occasions, attempted to conversate with Baldi. However, Baldi would never respond.

The fact that Baldi, of all people, was helping him was beyond The Principal. He expected to get another beating for 'being lazy' and 'not working in Baldi's schoolhouse'. The 'my schoolhouse' title belonged to Baldi. This entire business belonged to him. It explained why The Principal never stopped Baldi from killing children.

Once all the wounds stopped bleeding, Baldi stood up. The walls were screaming at him, even louder than ever before.

"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE? THIS IS WRONG. FIX YOUR WRONGDOINGS. BEAT HIM AGAIN, BEAT HIM AGAIN."

Baldi just stood there, staring at The Principal. He had fallen asleep while being cleaned up. Baldi dropped the rag and walked outside. He began his search once again, first attempting to go backwards, then revising his plans and returning to the way he was originally going to go.

He hesitantly stepped forward, right in front of the invisible barrier.

Baldi could now pass it.
