|chapter nine|

i looked everywhere for the diary but i still couldn't find it. i even asked my parents but they had no idea. i just wished that no one had stolen it. if anyone finds out i like jug, they'll tell everyone and i'll be embarrassed. i sat on my bed, worried. suddenly i heard the door bell ring

h: "veronica there's someone here to meet you!"

v: "tell them to come upstairs mom"

"who would come to visit me at this time" i asked myself. i heard someone knock on the door.

v: "come in"

i thought it would be betty or someone, but to my surprise it was the one and only jughead jones.

v: "j-jughead? what are you d-doing here?"

j: "sorry if im disturbing you but-

v: "oh no, i was just sitting around"

j: "i came here to give you this"

you wouldn't guess what he was holding. it was my diary. how could i have given him my diary by mistake. oh gosh im so stupid. my hands started shaking, i was really hoping he didn't read any of the parts that included him.

v: "oh, i was looking all over for that. i must've given you that instead of the book with notes in it. th-thank you jug"

i took the book from his hand and put in my drawer.

v: "y-you didnt read it by any chance. did you?"

he looked at me and laughed.

j: "well then how was i suppose to know it was the wrong book?"

v: "yes ofcourse, silly me!"

i turned around to face the my drawer, hoping he wasn't laughing at how stupid i sounded.

j: "veronica? did you mean all that you said? a-about me?"

i took a deep breath and slowly turned around. unfortunately he now knew i liked him so there was no point in hiding it.

v: "um, yea"

he started to walk closer to me, my hands started to become jittery again.
he placed his hand on my cheek. my heart was pounding. soon enough i was leaning against my dresser as our faces were inches apart.

j: "thank you veronica, i, i think the s-

before he could say more, my mom walked in. we immediately pulled away from eachother

h: "oh, sorry to interrupt"

v: "oh no mom its fine"

h: "i just wanted to tell you that jughead's dad called, he wants him to come back home"

v: "oh okay"

she smiled as she left, closing the door. i went back to look at jughead, he held my hand and smiled at me.

j: "see you tomorrow"

before you knew it he had left.
i quickly ran up to my window to see him waving at me.  i waved back with a smile. i laughed to myself how things quickly changed
