Chapter Eight
I stopped resisting. Any sudden movements could make him pull the trigger. As my dad stood shocked at the situation I was in, two guards were able to grab him. They lead us into the study, with Beatrice waiting there, looking as malicious as ever.
"And here I was thinking that you would actually go through with this whole thing. How very foolish of me." She sneered.
"Hans doesn't want to marry me." I spat back.
"But of course he does! He proposed to you, didn't he?" I felt Hans' grip on me loosen, probably fearful knowing Beatrice would soon find out that he revealed to me how he truly felt about this whole thing.
"He told me. This whole thing was your idea. And he doesn't entirely want to be king either. He'd rather live a modest and simple life in the village." I said quietly. Beatrice glared at Hans.
"She is already ruining everything, Hans. And now you're telling her things like this? Whose side are you on?" She spat at him.
Hans let go of me, and two guards took his place. He walked over and stood next to Beatrice, looking down at his feet.
"That's what I thought. Now, we are going to make sure these two snow freaks never bother us again." She smirked. My eyes widened and I had to catch my breath and she walked over to my dad. My dad looked her fearlessly in the eyes.
"What will you do? You can't kill me." He said dryly. Beatrice's smile faded, but only for a moment.
"Of course. It seems we can't hurt you physically. But there are other methods we can use to bring about your suffering." My heart began to race as she walked over to me. My dad's eyes were widening.
As she stood directly in front of me, probably visualizing different ways to hurt me, she looked evil as ever.
"Hans. Tell me the slowest and most painful way to die."
Hans was pale, and had trouble responding.
"Probably from a lack of air." He stuttered. Beatrice's eyes widened in excitement.
"Excellent. Hans, you are stronger than me. I'd like you to strangle Elsa, right now." Beatrice said. I looked at Hans, pleading with my eyes. There was no way he could possibly go through with this. Yet he walked forward, and placed his shaking hands around my neck, his thumbs resting under my jaw.
"You're better than this." I whispered. Tears filled his eyes. He shook his head in regret of what the situation had come to. Then he slowly began to tighten his grip around my throat. I began to struggle for air as he forcefully closed my windpipe more and more. I was gasping, and my hands were gripping his wrists. Then I wasn't breathing at all.
My eyes were wide, yet a circle of darkness began to narrow my vision. The sound of my dad's desperate yells became distant. I was almost out when the doors flew open, and Flynn Rider ran in, and immediately began hitting guards about the heads with a frying pan. Hans looked over at the action, but still had a tight grip on my throat. Once Flynn had knocked out the group of guards, Hans ran over, and he knocked him out as well. He saw me lying on the ground, struggling for air. At this point, I couldn't hear anything, but Flynn ran over to me, and put his hand on my face. I could see his lips forming my name over and over. The last thing I saw was his deep amber eyes wide in concern, looking straight into mine. Then everything was black.
Very slowly, everything around me began to come into focus. It was all blurry, but becoming less so with every minute. Before long, I realized that I was in my own room. Above me was a sheer white canopy that I had decorated with snowflake designs, and it cascaded down to the sides. It hung above my bed. Then I realized that I was in my bed.
