Forrest's POV

The day has finally arrived. The Royal Ball will begin in six hours. I have made several announcements on the etiquette and manners during the ball. I do not need any issues to occur. I demanded that everyone stay in their place and follow directions, and there will be no consequences.

Blair has been a pain to be around the last 24 hours. She's in complete disarray and she will not tell me what's wrong. But I can't have my focus on her right now. What I do know is that she better fix her attitude before the ball. I don't need her bleakness to damper the mood tonight.

I met with Noah and Drew earlier today. They're keeping an eye on the grounds, just to make sure that there will be no invaders or anyone leaving the grounds. It may seem animalistic of me to be possessive of my members whereabouts, but it's for the best. At least it's for only tonight.

So far there has been no occurrences of pack ground issues. That gives me peace for the moment.

"Noah, what is the word on the rogues?" I ask chiming into the pavilion.

"We have everyone in the houses and we sent out a notice to the rogues to be on their best behavior." he replied.

"Any details on the arrival of the Masons?" I ask.

"Elias said that they're arriving 5pm sharp." he replied.

"Very well, thank you Noah." I say. The Masons are 'good friends' of mine. We grew up in neighbor packs. I've been closer to Elias rather than Elliot. The Masons decided to move to Europe once Elias turned 18. I had the choice to go to Europe with them, but I declined as I like the area of my pack.

Elliot and I have not been on good terms recently. We all wanted to be inducted into the Royal Pack. It's just that he got to it first. Foremost, I was not jealous of Elliot Mason being inducted, but more despising the factor that the three of us were not inducted together. We're all practically capable of the same abilities. Of course, I am stronger. In battles, I would always beat the Masons. But I assume that it was more of a power of character than ability that landed Elliot the position.

You may ask, why not Elias? Well, perhaps it's because he is a year younger than him. Also, he is a bit immature. He could not possibly take the responsibility seriously, it's a joke to think about it.

I go back to my house to find Blair sitting on the staircase reading Lanval again. She's obsessed with that book. I've read it myself, but it's not my taste. At least she seems... better from earlier. I just hope that she put her anxieties and disparities aside.

"Lanval again?" I ask. She closes the book and steps towards me.

"I know, I read this story pretty much every week, but it's simply perfection. It's like the roles are reversed from a classic damsel-in-distress genre." she states.

"I need to brief you on the Masons, so no questions, only nodding in agreement, okay?" I demand.

"But-" she says.

"I said no questions." I interrupt. "The Masons are good friends of mine and I want you to make them feel welcomed. That means there will be some rules. First, there will be no time for asking silly questions. Second, you are not to fraternize with Elliot. Thirdly, you are to act like everything is perfect. There is no need for you to wallow and carry your puppy dog eyes in every conversation. And as I am speaking, fix it now, those eyes will not work on me." I utter.

"But-" she says again.

"No buts, do you understand what I just said to you?" I ask.

"Yes..." she utters. Great, now that is covered. I am sure that tonight will be perfect. I've addressed everything and we are ready to commence the ball in a couple of hours.
