CHAPTER 21
“What mall is this? This is bigger than the one in our town.” I said as Aaron parked his car in the parking lot.
Dan chuckled and tapped my shoulders lightly. “Because. That’s the only mall in our town and it sucks cause it’s too small.” I shrugged and walked to the mall entrance when Aaron got out of the car.
“You get to choose, Hayley. I’ll just tell you everything we need and you can choose whatever kind you like.” Aaron said as he led us to the kitchen equipments section.
“Hmm… shouldn’t we go for the cheaper ones? That should save us more time and money.” I said.
Aaron chuckled and shook his head. “Your dad calls it ‘a fancy restaurant’, so I think we should go for the fancy ones.”
“Oh. Ok.”
After paying for eight carts of kitchen equipments, Dan and Lance took them to the parking lot. Aaron asked me to have a late lunch with him and to go shopping for a few clothes after. “Do you think it’ll al fit in your car?” I said, shoving a spoonful of mushroom soup in my mouth.
“No. Lance brought his Hummer. Him and Dan can take care of it. They’ll meet us in the restaurant after.” he said.
Obviously, Aaron ordered too much food for the two of us. He said he didn’t want me to get hungry but we can’t manage to eat everything. Instead, he asked the waiter to wrap all our left overs so I could take them home, in case I get hungry tonight.
“Seriously Aaron, you don’t need to buy me clothes. I can pay for them if you want to see me in new ones.” I said when Aaron ordered the sales lady to grab one of everything in my size.
“It’s not that, Hayley. You look beautiful in everything you wear, I just wanted to give you something.”
“Well, this isn’t just something.”
He chuckled. “C’mon. Stop complaining. Just think of it as a gift from me. I’m the one who volunteered to buy them.” Even if I disagreed with him for like a hundred times already, he still bought all the clothes he chose for me and some for him too.
He drove us to the restaurant that was going to open next week already, and my mouth hung open when I saw it was completely done. It was painted red and black outside and some designed marmle and stones we’re sticked to it too. The inside was a combination of red, white and black too. The seats and tables were already placed and there was an empty bar on the side. There was a second floor too and more elegant seats and sofa’s were placed upstairs.
“Wow! This is awesome!” I chirped.
“Yeah, it is.” Aaron said and wrapped an arm on my shoulder as we walked inside. “So, shall we get started? We have a lot of decorating to do.”
“We’ve already started upstairs. Wanna see?” Lance said, appearing from the staircase.
“Yeah, sure.”
“By the way dude, Dan called the chef you hired the other day and the jerk backed out. He said he didn’t want to work in an opening restaurant.”
Aaron’s face turned hard but I knew he was controlling himself cause he didn’t want to show me that he was pissed off. “And he backed out in the last minute?” he said his voice stern.
“Hey, it’s ok. I know someone who cooks really awesome and I’m sure he’ll take this job.” I said. Yeah, that guy really needed this job more than anyone. He was graduating this year and he needs to support his dad’s diagnosis every month and medicine. “I’ll call him wait.” I said I flipped through my contacts until I found my desired number.
