One Year later

Alison's pov

"Grace please just stop running!" I stressed as I chased the toddler all over the apartment trying to get her shoes on her.

"No" she laughed as she continued to run crazily, she had been running for the past 10 minutes. I'm out of breath, I have no idea where she got all the energy from. And I have to drop her off with my parents so I could go get ready for my wedding.

Emily was already gone, her friend Laura and Jess from work picked her up, about an hour ago, and she left me with Grace. Over the past 2 years Grace has definitely grown on me, I think of her as my own daughter. I never thought I could love someone more then Em, but the love I have for Grace is like an entirely different thing.

"Come on baby Mommy has to go get ready!" I continued chasing her as she ran around the foyer. After several hard attempts, I eventually catch her and scoop her up into my arms.

"No Mommy!" She squirmed trying to wiggle out of her arms.

"You have to get your shoes on and put your pretty dress on, so you can do your flower girl duties later" I explained while buckling her tiny sneakers onto her feet.

"I forget how" the 2 year old spoke in a boring tone as glanced around the room.

"Baby, you have practiced a hundred times" I sighed "Your a big girl now! So you have to do your big girl jobs" I tried hoping she would understand.

After getting her shoes on I looked up at the little girl. Her blue eyes were sparkling and her dark brown hair was messy. She looked like Emily's mini me despite her blue eyes.

"Ok" she shrugged. Just as she did the door opened and in cane my mother.

I handed Grace to her and leaned into kiss her goodbye.

"Bye baby be good, love you" She cheekily smiled at me giving me a 'You know I'm not going to' type of look

"Wove you too Mommy" Still, when I hear her call me mommy my heart fills with warmth that I just cannot explain. It always leaves a smile on my face.

The 3 of us were sitting on the floor in the living room. Grace was showing Em and I her toys, as she played with them.

She handed me one of the barbies to Emily.

"And Who is this Grace?" Emily asked as a big smile crawled on her face.

"Dat's you Mama!" She exclaimed happily. Emily laughed and took the doll from the toddlers hands.

She then grabbed another one and handed it to me "Dat's Mo-Mommy!" She pointes to the doll then to me. "Mommy!" She squealed again as she pointed at me.

I stared at the little girl In awe. I felt A warm fuzzy feeling in my chest at what Grace had called me. I felt a tears surface in my eyes, as I could not wipe the uncontrollable smile off my face. I looked at Emily, who also had an equally surprised face, but then it turned into a proud smile and gave me a nod of approval, saying that she was ok with it.

I picked Grace up from her seating position and gave her a huge hug and kissed all over her face causing her to squeal. I pulled back and looked at her adorable face that looked exactly like Emily. "Mommy" She said again and poked my nose. I smiled happy tears falling down my cheeks.

"Yes, I'm your mommy"

I was pulled out of my daydream by an obnoxious voice yelling my name.
