Chapter 1

Once upon a time,live a woman named Suzy who lived in an old abandoned cottage in the woods.

She was living her life in a depressed way as she lost both of the most important people in her life, which is her husband Carlos and her 5-month-old son, Leo.

She lived with her step-daughter, Avery who will turned 16 this year.

Suzy POV
"Wake up will you!" I shouted to Avery as the sun started to rise.
She stirred in her sleep and immediately woke up as she heard her voice.
"Yes, mother. I'm up." She said quietly before washing herself up for school.

"Breakfast is ready!" I shouted from the kitchen.
"Coming!" Avery shouted back as she came down the stairs with her backpack on.

"So, any plans after school today?" I asked trying to sound decent.
She took her breakfast and replied,
"I was thinking of staying after school to study. Why?"
"Im going to be back late since im going to shop for the groceries today."
She nodded as she was finishing her omelette.
She quickly took a glance at her watch, and immediately stood up.
"Im gonna be late for school. Bye!"

She said as she left the house in a hurry.
I just fake a smile and replied back with a soft,
"Have fun at school Avery."
