Genji sighed as he stared unhappily at his inhumanly body parts. He hadn't wanted this to happen to him, to his body. But there was no other choice if he ever wanted to walk again. Most of his body had been mutilated, then replaced with prosthetic hardware. He felt practically nothing. Not even human.
McCree entered Genji's room, pulling Genji away from his depressing thoughts.
"Gabe wants you to meet him in the training room." McCree stated.
Genji stood and quickly swept past McCree without a hesitation. McCree silently accepted the gesture. Genji had the right to act the way he felt. He just hoped that Genji would soon adjust to the circumstances.
The cyborg walked quietly to the training room to see his boss. Gabe stood in the center of the room, a cup of coffee in his gloved hand. He was wearing his usual dark attire.
"You wanted to see me, Reyes?" Genji said.
"Yeah. Angela wanted me to get you to adjust to the movement and control of your new body." Gabe replied before taking a drink of the coffee in his hand.
Genji nodded and pulled out his sword, preparing to fight the training bots.
Later~
A couple hours later, Genji had completed his training with the bots and given his score. He would soon learn which division he would be placed in. He didn't really care what division he would be placed in. There wasn't a lot for him to care about anymore. He would now more or less do what had to be done.
He was currently outside on a balcony, watching as the dark storm clouds rolled in. He could feel the chilling breeze on what flesh was left, as in his left arm and his face. That was something he could still appreciate. He still had some parts of his real body still. Not much, but he still had to at least try to look at the bright side, even being mostly emotionless.
Thunder boomed across the sky along with a streak of lightning as began to downpour. Genji stayed where he was.
"You should probably come inside before you catch a cold." a voice behind him said.
"You know that is not possible for me due to my robotic parts, McCree." Genji replied. he recognized the southern drawl in his deep voice.
"Alright, then come inside before you rust." McCree joked.
Genji didn't say a word.
"Come on, darlin'. Come join everybody for dinner. Make some new friends besides me." replied McCree.
"I do not need friends. Especially you." Genji stated coldly.
McCree said nothing. He turned on his heel, the spirs of his boots clicking behind him, and left Genji alone.
McCree was determined to help Genji. For now, he would give the cyborg space.
Genji had a disappointed feeling in his stomach as he listened to the only person that was trying to help him emotionally, walk away.
He placed his head in hands and silently cried.
