Jacob's POV

I woke up really late to the buzzing of Uprising by Muse buzzing through my phone. I look over and noticed that Leah was still asleep so I slipped out of bed to check on the events of the day.

"Hello," I whispered.

"Hey Boss," Embry yelled louder than necessary. "I thought you were going to be on site. I was concerned not that anything is going wrong just because you're normally here before we are." I sat down in the living room and rubbed my head. I forgotten I had mentioned going over the site Embry's been heading up. Ever since Seth put in his two weeks' notice Embry and Quil have been breaking their backs to become my "second" as far as work was concerned. So far all I could determine by their efforts was that I was really going to miss Seth. Seth and I had worked as a team before the others decided they wanted a job with me. Seth didn't have to ask many questions because he knew the level of work I expected and how I liked things done.

"Yeah, I'm coming through it will probably be in the afternoon. I have some things I need to finish up and then I'll be in." I heard some guys yelling to Embry and he responded asking for one minute. From what I could hear it was something to do about which color paint they were using. Nothing major, Embry was a good working he wasn't as careful as Quil but still good. Quil just took so long if I could put them both together and make one person then I'd have the perfect "second" aka Seth.

"Okay, well I think you're going to be really impressed!" He promptly patted himself on the back.

"You do good work Embry. I'm sure you're right but I've got to go alright. Seeya soon." I quickly brushed him off the phone and sprinted to my truck for my overnight bag. I always keep some clothes in my truck. Sometimes I get in a mood where I don't require sleep and want to work through the night other times a worker will piss me off and I need some time to get my head together and give into the beast within. However, this was the best reason to need a new set of clothes. After taking a quick shower I decided to take my laptop out and start a 3-D blueprint of this house. I'd just gotten this new software a month ago and I was still feeling it out to see if I wanted to start using it regularly for my clients.

"Shit," I grumbled to myself the whole thing didn't seem quite right. Just as I was about to delete the whole draft Leah came out from the bedroom. She was fully dressed to my disappointment but she still seemed a little out of it.

"I need coffee … you want some?" I nodded and dragged her feet as she headed into the kitchen. I could tell she was weighing a lot of things over in her head. It made me wonder why women always over analyzed things. I heard her press a few buttons, then pull a couple of mugs from her cabinet, and then cleared her throat." After a few minutes she carried both cups into the living room and placed them on the coffee table she sat on in the recliner, one sit, and too far away from me. I got up and sat on the arm off of the chair.

"Check this out." I showed her what I'd been working on. I made the house rotate and her eye lit up as she took in the animated blueprint on my laptop.

"Wow, Jake it this … is this my house?" I guess the blueprint wasn't too bad if she was able to figure out it was her house. She was truly impressed and it made feel like … I don't know like she was proud of me. I liked that feeling. "This is amazing!"

"Why thank you kind ma'am, I don't think it's quite right but here's the front porch I want to put on it. I just click this and … tadah!" I added the porch to her eyes. Big brown happy eyes now smiled at me. "This is what your house will look like if you still want me to work on it." She glared at me for a minute and the scoffed.

"Yeah, I think we're back on speaking terms now Jake," she chuckled dryly.

"I wasn't sure we really didn't talk so much last night," I teased and she shoved me.

"We said plenty last night trust me," she said and then a quiet came between us. There was a question stuck in my throat and to be completely honest I was scared to ask it. I didn't want to have a rerun on the relationship we'd had in the past. I want to remix it and make it better. I couldn't ask her because like she'd made completely clear I could ask her to say the words but that didn't mean she really felt them. While I was debating on asking her the questions that may lead to my greatest happiness or the worst depression of my life my phone went off … again. This time it was Quil and I hit ignore. I could see Leah's curiosity had been peaked but she wasn't the type of woman to ask questions.

"I am at a bit of a crossroads at the moment Leah. I need to go to work. I'm like really late," I explained with a little chuckle. She frowned at me in confusion, crossed her arms, and tilted her head.

"Oh, well I think I have a tumbler for your coffee. If you need to go." She hopped up to go back into the kitchen and I stopped her.

"My problem is I don't want to leave," I blurted out quickly and she looked down and smirked a little. She almost looked bashful.

"So are you asking me to kick you out or something?" She grabbed my mug and headed to the kitchen and I followed her. I watched as she stood on her tippy toes to reach her tumbler for me. It was a very pretty site. It was a rarity to watch Leah do such a thing because she had such lusciously long sexy legs.

"No, I want you to come with me. I want you to see what we do." She looked back me over her shoulder. She paused for a moment and then reached again for an extra tumbler. I guess she was coming with me. It was good to see that just like me she wasn't ready to leave me either.
