So I'm totally winging this one. Like...this one has nothing to do with any of the plots except for the rivalry of Sephiroth and Cloud. So let's start!
Reader's Pov:
I took Marlene to the church on Tifa's favor. Cloud was supposed to be arriving at the bar soon. I was worried about him. Sephiroth really messed him up in the head.
"Huh?" I looked over at Marlene who was supposed to be looking at flowers. However, she found a supply of materia in one of the flowerbeds.
"Materia?" I asked myself as I walked over to her. I crouched down to get a better look at the materia. I know Cloud comes here often...is this why? Is this his stash for his battles with Sephiroth? "Well, isn't this a surprise."
I quickly rose to my feet and pivoted to the intruder. Speak of the devil. Two things to protect, and one long ass sword to dodge.
"Who knew I would get all of Cloud's most prized possessions in one day?" Sephiroth smirked.
Marlene grabbed onto my leg in fear as I glared at him. He pulls out his sword, causing Marlene to flinch.
I pat her head to signal her to go hide, which she does. I pull out my own buster sword. It was a little bit smaller than Cloud's, but I could move better since it was smaller.
"Hm? You can fight?" Sephiroth chuckled darkly. "Don't disappoint me, now."
I scowled slightly before running after him. He swung his sword at me but I blocked it. Our swords clashed every two seconds with swift and harsh movements.
I jumped when Sephiroth tried swinging at my feet. I landed on the end of his sword before jumping off of it to continue fighting.
After one final clash, we pushed each other away and panted. "I'm almost impressed. But I'm not done with you yet!"
I gasped as he sprinted at me with full force. I somersaulted away from his swinging sword, but I accidentally skinned my ankle against his sword.
I hissed as I put pressure on my ankle. "(Y/n)!" Marlene called. "Stay put!" I called back. Crap, I can't walk on my ankle. At this rate, Sephiroth is going to kill us and take Cloud's materia...
Sephiroth began walking towards us and I began to panic. The grip on my sword tightened as he raised his up. He was about to slash down at me until he was interrupted...
"Sephiroth!" Sephiroth ceased his movements and turned towards the voice. Cloud stood a few yards away from us with his buster sword in hand, eyes filled with rage. "Let her go."
"Cloud.." Sephiroth greeted. "Finally decided to join us? You see, I was just passing by when I saw (Y/n) and a little girl here looking at the flowers. I decided...why not have a little fun?"
Sephiroth punched me once before kicking me aside, causing me to cry out in pain. Cloud screamed out in anger as he charged after Sephiroth. "Don't touch her!"
Marlene ran over to me to help me limp over to her hiding space. I wince as I sit back down before taking a look at the cut on my ankle. It was deep, but it better than getting myself killed.
"This is my fault, isn't it?" Marlene whimpered. "No, Marlene. None of this is your fault. Sephiroth would have stole Cloud's materia if we didn't come here. So it's actually thanks to you." I smiled weakly. She smiled back.
We stopped smiling when we heard Cloud call out for our names. "(Y/n)! Marlene! One of you show yourselves! It's safe!"
I urged Marlene to go and she nodded before walking out. "Cloud! We're over here!" She called back.
I heard fast footsteps after Marlene called out to Cloud, indicating that Cloud was sprinting towards her.
He followed her over to me as I focused putting pressure on my ankle. Cloud removed my hand from my ankle and gently raised it up to where he could see better.
I winced when he brushed his thumb over the cut. "Cloud...that's what's causing her pain!" Marlene scolded with a pout.
"Relax, Marlene. I had materia equipped. The cut should be healing right about now." Cloud said softly.
As Cloud finished his explanation, my cut had healed up, and we had to wipe the remaining blood off of my ankle.
"What were you doing fighting Sephiroth, anyway?" Cloud asked as he sets my foot down. I grabbed an extra handkerchief I had and the water I took with us in case me or Marlene got thirsty.
"I was trying not to die, what do you think?" I asked in return. Cloud shook his head at my sarcasm as I dabbed a little bit of water onto the handkerchief. "I'm being serious, (Y/n)."
I began wiping off the blood as I respond. "Um, Marlene and I may or may have not accidentally spotted your secret supply of materia. So When Sephiroth arrive, I fought him to protect me, Marlene, and your materia. He said something about getting all of your most prized possessions." I said.
He nodded and I finished cleaning off the blood from my ankle. "Are you all right everywhere else, though? I know he punched and kicked you, too." He said. "I'm fine. I can take a hit, you know. By the way, thanks for saving me back there."
"What? Oh...that? That..was nothing." He mumbled as he rubbed the back of his neck. I smiled and pat his back. "Come on, Marlene. Let's get you back to the bar before Tifa gets worried." "Okay!"
That's a wrap! 😊
