The world is dark
The light is fading
Where can I park
My restless mind
Where the shadows aren't waiting
Once again
we descend
Into oblivion
My soul is dark
I cannot see
My once bright destiny
I'm lost and hiding
I cannot find it
Once again
We descend
Into oblivion
The trees are dark
The forest weeping
For it's lost life
It's screams echoing
In my empty head
Once again
We descend
Into oblivion
My life is dark
Full of shadowed people
Creeping in and out of the day
They pull us deeper
From our destination
Once again
We descend
Into oblivion
The moon is dark
And howls in pain
Boldening people in it's vacant light
But the light isn't permanent
And leaves us more empty than ever
Once again
We descend
Into oblivion

For this one, I can keep going and I think I will cuz I haven't come up with a really good ending for it so... This is about people trying to climb towards the light and being pulled back down again by their pasts. What inspired it was my mom. Not in the way you think she did, with one of her funny little things. We were driving cross country and all that surrounded us is plains and boringness. My mom was trying to entertain herself to no prevail. But then we got into mountains and greenery and she's like okay I'm not bored andymore but looming ahead of us, we saw the mass of rolling plains again and she's like once again we descend into oblivion and she told me to use that for a song so I wrote it down in word but then I got a great spur of the moment inspiration and started typing and this is what I came up with. So enjoy! Long explanation for a really short poem but eh.
