Atomic

Mariko Takahashi revved her car, she looked at her opponent and smiles, this will be easy.

Just as they are about to take off, she hears a police siren.

"Fuck." She wispers jumping out of her car and making a run for it.

The nearest city was a mile away and the police had cars while she only had her legs.

She ran on to an open road, surely someone will pick up a hitch hiker.

Mari held up her thumb and waited.

She didn't hear any sirens or see red and blue, maybe she could make it.

Soon she sees the head lights of a car.

"Need a lift?" They ask after rolling down their window.

Mari gladly nodded and they opened the door to which Mari got in.

"I'm Mari." She started, "Can I trust you?"

Now that they had more light Mari could see his face, his brown hair sticking up, glasses covering green eyes and three watches on his right arm.

"I guess, I'm ClockWork." He introduces himself.

"I'm on the run, and is your name really ClockWork?" Mari asked.

ClockWork sighed, "Because you told me you're on the run I'll tell you that I'm Noah, who is also on the run."

Mari smiled, "Do you have a hide out?" Noah nodded, "So you want to stay with me?"

Mari nodded looking out the window.

After twenty minutes they make it to the nearest city.

Noah parks his car in a convenience store parking lot and leads Mari to the clock tower.

"You go first, just climb the ladder and wait at the platform." Noah tells her and Mari does as he told her to.

Noah is soon up with her and places his hand on the glass on the face of the clock.

The glass moves to the side revealing a large room.

"Woah." Mari said.

Noah smiled and invited her in.

The room was comfy with bean bags, a couch, one bed and a desk covered in mechanical peices.

"I've got to get something." Noah says and begins to climb down the ladder.
