Hiding Behind a Smile

I
Seeing me smiling in the halls
Not knowing what's behind those walls
You wouldn't know if it's real or fake
Faking a smile is just a piece of cake

II
Don't trust those smiles and believe they're happy
Sometime they don't want you to be sad then worry
These individuals are caring and loving to other people
But they do the opposite for themselves, it's uncontrollable

III
Attention, care and love is what they need
Knowing that someone cares for them made them easy to breathe
Ignoring them would cause themselves danger
They start to overthink then let out their fear and anger

IV
Feeling this way every single day
Makes me mad, afraid, don't want you to see it so I push you away
Everyday I try my best to smile and make you laugh
I'm really trying but I guess it's not enough

V
I thank the people who made an effort to save me from this
Thank you for not giving up on me even if I made you feel pissed
Making me laugh, smile and feel genuinely happy for a moment
But I guess a part of me is meant to be sad, in pain and broken.
