It was 9:30am when Ramin woke up which meant it had been 2 hours since Sierra left. He went into his bathroom and washed his face, then knocked on his bedroom door. He heard no reply and assumed she was still asleep. He waited another hour but she still wasn't up and he decided to make sure she was okay. He opened the door to an empty room. "Sierra?!" he shouted. Ramin frantically searched for his phone to call her, but it went to voicemail. He tried again. And again. He was about to call the police when his door swung open. Ramin was sweating so badly, it looked like he got out of a sauna. "Oh my god, Sierra! Where the hell were you?" He slammed his phone down on the counter. Before she got a chance to explain he wrapped his arms tightly around her, which made her forget everything she going to say. Ramin trembled at the thought, "Are you hurt? Sierra, I was worried sick! You could have left a fucking note, you know?!" He screamed. "I'm sorry. I just went out for a drive. I needed to clear my head." She apologized. Ramin sighed. "If anything were to happen to you. Again. I just.. I couldn't." he choked up and tried to blink back tears but they came too fast. "Oh my god," Sierra held him closer, "Please don't tell me you blame yourself. My accident? It wasn't your fault. You weren't even there." He sniffled, "But it is. I could have been there. I could have protected you. I just.. I wish it was me." He fell to the ground. She bent down, wiped his tears and cradled him in her arms. "No, Ramin. Don't wish that. There's no way you could have been there. Okay. It wasn't your fault. It wasn't." Every time another tear of his fell, her heart shattered. "It wasn't," she whispered.
