Layers of Pain
By J. Lynne MooreSee the layers of pain,
Don't peal them back.
Just walk away...
And cut me some slack.Nowhere to run...
Nowhere to hide...
No one sees me...
Rotting inside...Don't give me your pity,
I have enough of my own.
I water it daily;
Oh, my how it has grown. This pit is bottomless,
No light down here.
My new best friends,
Are doubt and fear.Comfort awaits me,
Somewhere in a dream.
Maybe sleep will come,
On a silvered moonbeam.I'm not seeking rainbows,
Or skies of clear blue,
Just a bit of relief,
That is long overdue.
