Her white car parked a few blocks away from Stratford Tower. The Police had blocked any access from any civilian or car to pass from the road. She walked out of the car and she made her way towards the huge tower.
There were police cars outside and policemen inspecting the area. She tried to enter but a policeman stopped her.
"I'm sorry, ma'am, but crossing beyond this area is not permitted for civilians-"
"Let her in, she's with me," A familiar voice came from behind.
She turned around and she saw Hank and Connor. She felt a smile and she accepted it to take over her perfect features.
"Alright,"
The three of them walked into the building. She noticed Connor's arm wrapping hers tightly, lacing their fingers together. She looked at Connor and he looked back at her with a look that said that he'd been worried during her forty-eight-hour absence.
But they both didn't say anything as long as the cops inspected the reception around them.
"Where have you been, Dr?" Hank asked as they walked towards the elevator on the dead end of the hall.
"Running a small business, nothing important," Andry said.
Connor had to admit, she was a good liar. "You've been gone for two days straight," he said.
"Alright, maybe it was a big business," Andry said sarcastically as they finally entered the elevator.
Hank pressed the buttons to get at the 79th floor.
In a blink of an eye, Connor turned her around so that her body fully touched his and his hand passed around her waist. Andry gasped at the sudden change of position.
"Connor, what the hell are you doing?!" Hank asked.
The other two completely ignored the old man.
Connor analyzed her. It was surprising. She hadn't even taken a sip of alcohol the last three days. Blood Toxicity 50%. He scoffed.
"How could you just disappear for two long days?! I... I felt worried about you," Connor said hesitating using the word.
"Doesn't sound like a simple emulation of feelings," Andry said with a small smirk ready to escape from her lips.
He caught her gaze with his and his grip around her waist tightened bringing her closer "Your Blood Toxicity has reached 50%-"
"That means I only have another week or two-" Andry said chuckling bitterly but he cut her.
"This is no game, Andry. You're dying!" Connor nearly exclaimed.
"What am I supposed to do about it!? I accepted it three years ago!" Andry exclaimed hitting her hands on his chest trying to pull away from him, though she knew that it was worthless to try.
"I... I can't accept it, Andry," Connor said.
Once the door of the elevator opened they both pulled away from each other. There were police officers everywhere investigating a deviant case. They couldn't risk having Connor acting like a deviant.
Hank walked out and the other two followed behind.
"Hi, Hank," Chris said giving him a look.
"Shit, what's going on here? There was a party and nobody told me about it?" Hank asked.
Chris chuckled "Yeah, it's all over the news so everybody's butting their nose in. Even the FBI wants a piece of the action,"
"What do we got?" Andry asked as she crossed her hands and they walked towards the broadcasting room.
