Laughing

Watching them

Whispering words to each other
That we don't let even the wind hear
Whispering words
Whispering trust
Keep your eyes closed
Remember
Whisper to him
Understand
I am walking this path
Walking it with you
But not saying a word
Not making a sound
Not trusting myself
To keep the tears inside if I do
You are walking this path
Walking it with me
Not saying a word
Looking at me
Wanting to help
Not being able to
We are walking this path
Together
Showing each other our demons
Accepting them
Wanting to help

Open your eyes
Look
Whisper to yourself
Be aware
I am walking this path
Walking it alone
For you are no longer here

I lost you
And now you walk another path
With someone else
You are walking that path
Far away from the one you used to walk
Far away from the one you used to walk it with
Laugh lingering in the air
But a different one
Hearing whispers
But different ones
We are walking the path
Each of us their own
And just a ghost on the other
At least on one
For I still walk alone
I still wait for you
