The darkness crept in all around,
it began to swallow me up
My feet were glued to the ground
I tried to move, but I was stuck
Whispers drifted into my ears,
"Now you're all alone"
My body shook as the fear
settled in my bones
A chilling breeze scurried past
and wrapped around me tight
In front of me, a shadow cast
by a monster of the night
From it came a churning growl,
an unmistakable threat
When I saw the teeth guarding its scowl,
I knew my fate was set
A ghostly figure rose from the ground
and introduced himself as Death
His cold hands cut through me and found
my very last breath
With a shock, I awoke in my room
There I was, safe in my bed
I escaped the clutches of my doom
Finally, I escaped my head
