This, Kuroba Kaito mused, as he snuggled up to his taller companion, was the best way to spend the evening before a heist. No. Scratch that. It was the best way to spend most evenings. A warm hand snaked it's way around his waist as his companion pulled him closer, and Kami-sama, Kaito was glad his mother and Aoko weren't around, because their snuggling on the couch had mutated from what could have been the platonic friends-fell-asleep-on-each-other-whilst-chatting variety to more of the prelude-to-making-out variety.
Especially considering just who his companion was. If Aoko ever figured it out... he wondered how long it would take for her to bludgeon him to death with her mop. Probably not long. It would depend on how angry she was he supposed.
Kaito's companion made a soft, very adorable sound that had the magician melting into a puddle inside as deep honey coloured eyes blinked sleepily down at him. Damn that was a good look on him. Okay, so there wasn't a significant height difference between the two, but his companion's two and a half inch height advantage was really, really noticeable when they curled up together on the couch like this.
Somewhere outside the room, a single screech followed by several decidedly cheeky coo's could be heard, but neither teen reacted. The doves and Watson had been sharing an aviary/room for nearly a year now without a single casualty, so the odd coo and the occasional outraged squawk were easily ignored in favour of more important things, like being 'sickeningly adorable with each other' (According to both Baya and Jii-chan. Who Kaito was almost certain were also being 'sickeningly adorable together' behind closed doors.).
Kaito was drifting off when he heard a very annoying and very familiar voice echo through the house, and was suddenly up, downstairs and halfway to the front door before his blonde partner could even register the movement in his sleep befuddled mind. The magician was internally panicking as he scooped up Saguru's shirt from where it lay and hastily shoved it into the laundry basket before answering the door, hoping Aoko wouldn't be in one of her really inquisitive moods, because that usually ended in her searching through his stuff, for whatever bizarre reason she had at the time.
Kaito was a little bit wary of Aoko when Saguru was staying over, because one day, she was going to find him (though she hadn't found the hidden room yet, so there was always that bolt-hole.) and completely freak out, because Kaito knew Aoko wasn't stupid, and finding a half naked, half asleep detective dozing on the couch was not going to end well for him. Or Saguru. Both Kaito and Aoko heard the faint sounds of someone moving around upstairs, and before Kaito could distract his friend, she was already up the stairs and looking into the first room.
Hakuba saguru could hear Aoko-chan approaching the room he was in and swore softly to himself in English. Here he was, in Kaito's house, of all places, messy haired, dozey-eyed and displaying a love bite that resembled a kid caricature on his right shoulder. If she saw him... he dreaded to think what sort of half baked and probably half true conclusion she would draw. Saguru would have to admit to being impressed with himself for not jumping violently in fright when Kaito seemingly materialised from the wall, a barely disguised look of fear on his face. Saguru fully understood that particular look.
