I kinda feel bad, though- today hasn't been his best day, even though it's his adoption day! Earlier, my baby sister wouldn't leave him alone- he raised his paw and nipped the top of her head. It was enough to make her cry, but considering Lyncoln didn't look guilty until I smacked him, he didn't mean to. Still, though, I have to teach him that you don't even playfully bite a baby. (That's why you really shouldn't hand play with them even when they're kittens.) Later on, I picked him up to show him something, and he growled! Not just a growl, but what almost sounded like a snarl! He never growled at me before, and I mean NEVER, so... it hurt my feelings just a bit! Okay, a lot. >.< But after he did, I smacked him, and then picked him up again, and he tucked his tail between his legs. In cats, that's a sign of submissiveness and/or defeat, and it means that they aren't going to try to hurt you again. So I'm not sure if he realized it was me, and he may not have even realized I was behind him, so it may have just startled him. He's also not only got Rachel (baby sister) chasing after him constantly and roughly petting him, but he's getting irritated with the two in heat females following him everywhere. So, I can't really blame him for snapping at me. 😂 Poor baby... but all is good, now! And after you smack him for something bad he did, he won't make the mistake again- at least not for several months! He's seriously the best, most well behaved, most friendly boy I've ever had! Maybe that's the key- he's really the only BOY cat I've had! 😂😂😂
