Mistake

"Kian, stop." I say sternly.

Of course Kian, being Kian, continued to repeatedly poke me as I typed away on my laptop. I try to ignore the aggravating eighteen year old that's beside me and continue typing.

"Kian!" He momentarily stops. "Please stop."

"Make me." He smirks.

Only this show then there's one left. I remind myself.

Right now we're on our way to Portland and throughout the tour I've noticed Kian is extremely flirty. It would be okay if he flirted with other girls as well, like the fans, but nope. It's only toward me. Honestly it makes me feel pretty uncomfortable seeing as he's like a brother to me and, not to mention, I have a boyfriend, whom I love very much.

I close my laptop stressfully and walk past the bunks to the couch. "Hey Sam."

"Hey." He sits next to me. "Whatcha doing?"

"Getting away from Kian. Do you know what's up with him?"

"What do you mean?" Sam furrows his eyebrows together in confusion.

"The flirting, the playfulness, the.... poking!"

Sam smirks, "Isn't it obvious?"

This time it was my turn to furrow my eyebrows together. What am I missing?

"It's not like he likes me or anything right?" I chuckle nervously but Sam smirks. I stop laughing, "Please tell me he doesn't like me."

"Okay. He doesn't like you." He smiles.

"Really?" I gain a little bit of hope.

"No." Poof. All hope is demolished.

This can't be happening. Kian can't like me. He was supposed to be the best friend that never caught feelings for me and I never caught feelings for him.

"Maddie," I hear Kian call. Oh no. I look nervously at Sam. He points to the table, signaling for me to get under it. "Sam, have you seen Maddie?"

"Uh, nope. Haven't seen her. Small bus though. Ask Jc." I hear Kian walk away and Sam signals for me to come out.

"Thanks." I mutter.

"Where's my boyfriend, phone stealer?" I laugh as Harleigh's face pops up on my laptop screen. I attempted to call Taylor but this is great too.

"He's recording. We're in Tennessee." She says. "And nice to see you too."

"Hey Maddie!" I hear someone yell.

"Is that Dillon?"

"Yeah. He says you and Taylor are coming to Indiana when you get back to LA so y'all can hangout." She chuckles.

Message: From Nash

'Call me now so we can talk about this.'

I told Nash about the whole Kian thing and he's willing to help me out.

"I have to go Harls but I FaceTime you and Taylor later."

"Okay. Love you."

"Love you too." I hang up then immediately call Nash.

"Hey." Nash says after he answers.

"Hey."

"So, this whole Kian liking you thing, are you sure they aren't messing with you?"

"I'm sure. Kian's tried to kiss me on more than one occasion. It's bad." I sigh. "I might just come home." I murmur.

"No. You are most definitely not coming home. You have one show after tomorrow, you can do it. You're over exaggerating this, Madison. It's going to be okay."

I sigh again, "I just don't want to do something stupid and cause problems with Taylor."

"We all know you love him just as much as he loves you, Maddie."

"Yeah but that's you guys. Taylor is my actual boyfriend. Trust me it's not a good feeling knowing the person you love cheated on you. No matter how much they'll say they love you, you don't believe them."

"You'll be okay, Maddie. I promise. Now I gotta go. I'm freaking tired as fuck."

"Go to sleep, Grier. And tell Hayesy I miss him." He chuckles.

"Okay. Night, Maddie."

I return the 'goodnight' then go to sleep, preparing to try to ignore Kian.

"Maddie,"

Walk faster. My mind tells me, which I reluctantly agree too. Getting away from Kian was my main priority right now. No matter how much I love Kian, as a brother, he's really getting on my nerves with those little feelings of his.

I feel a hand wrap around mine then gently pulls me back, "Let me go Kian."

"What'd I do?" He still doesn't let me go.

"You caught feelings and you're still catching feelings." I say bitterly.

"How is that my fault?"

"I never said it was your fault but, Kian, I have a boyfriend and you flirting and poking me twenty-four-seven isn't helping with trying to keep your feelings in your pants."

"Okay. Yeah. Madison, I do like you. Okay? There I said it. And I don't care if you have a boyfriend because I can't stop myself from feeling the way I do. I'm sorry if you feel that you need to hate me because of how I feel but I can't help that either." His eyes stare into mine, searching for any ounce of hope for the two of us being together. But he doesn't find any because... it's not there. He releases his grip on my arm and places both of his hands on my cheeks, still staring into my eyes.

In that moment I knew what he was going to do. But for some reason I couldn't stop him.

"Tell me if you don't feel anything in this." He crashes his lips to mine, making me stiffen.

I relax and, hesitantly, kiss back. My arms find their way around his neck and his go around my waist. Our lips move in sync, like its nothing new.

Kian slowly pulls back, probably shocked that I kissed back.

Wait.

I kissed back.

I cheated on Taylor. I back away from Kian as I begin to take sharp breaths. Everything around me seems to be going in slo-motion. This can't be happening.

"Maddie," I hear Kian's voice but it's almost as if he's down the hall and I can barely hear him. I trip over my own foot, falling on to my butt then scoot back, pressing my back on the wall.

You cheated. My mind bitterly reminds me, as if I don't already feel guilty enough.

"Madison, are you okay? What's happening?" Kian says, obviously worried.

I can't breath. The short intakes of breath aren't enough and I'm beginning to feel light headed.

"I- I think- I think I'm-" I look into his eyes. "I think I'm having a panic attack."
