For what could have been the hundredth time Esme flipped through the sketchbook  left behind by Andy. For these few weeks  she couldn't leave the safe house or even her room she went through everything belonging to Andy Strucker after that he sacrificed himself. After that she began going through everything belonging to him and thinking about all of his memories left in her mind. Reliving one of them just to hear his voice again. Feeling angry at herself and the people who created that atrocity that killed Andy with every glance. She'd spend hours looking at what things Andy used to treasure or at least use on a daily basis.

But the sketchbook was the only thing she bothered to even carry with her or take out of his room. People who tried to clear out the room were treated to horrifying images and nightmares. No one had repeated the first couple of people foolish enough to try after hearing their screams.

Esme could still feel the bruises on her arms and on her face.  She was the one who told the Struckers what happened to their son and she let them take out all their grief and anger on her. She didn't reply or make a retort for any of the dozens of curses, insults or even bother to cry out to the physical pain. To the barrier that slammed her against a wall  as Catlin and Reed shouted at her.

' Who cares if one of light goes out.'

She didn't bother to seek medical attention and demanded that her own sisters would not get payback. But she did muster up the strength to  punish several people who thought horrible things about Andy and she took it as an insult to his memory. They were just thinking of dragging his name through the mud calling him a kid in over his head or playing hero for someone superior.  She flooded their minds with too much information before making them strike each other.

' And you're angry and you should be. It isn't far.'

But she wanted to throw herself off this massive staircase but she couldn't stand putting someone else through this agony of losing someone. She couldn't hurt her own family as well as Andy's. She couldn't do it to Sophie and Phoebe but she hated the Hellfire Club and herslef so much now. She felt so much self hatred, and so hollow with out Andy.

                                                                           ' It's not fair.'

All she could now was look over every unfinished drawing he left behind and every thing he ever experienced. She couldn't recruit anymore and she couldn't go a hour without being reminded of Andy Von Strucker. The boy who could be cocky and beat boxing, caring and drawing or angry and chaotic. She couldn't pretend that Andy hadn't hidden  feelings for her and after his passing he became so much more. She could not help but think what could have happened if she wasn't so empty.

If Andy had lived and they could actually share what was unsaid. If  she didn't bring him along. What could have prevented the horrible emptiness in not just the Hellfire Club but this world without Andy Strucker.
