Leilani Akamu didn't want to move to New York. Unfortunately, due to the fact that her abusive father had been relocted because of his job, she didn't really have a say in the matter. A suitable replacement for the best school ever (in Lani's opinion) is Midtown High in Queens, New York.
So, she starts there in the middle of the year with no friends and an awkward personality to match. The teachers are okay, but the students... well, they aren't mean. But they completely ignore Lani, which makes her feel even more unwelcome than before. A majority of them are terrible, though.
Except for one.
The second Flash Thompson introduces himself to Lani, the two sophomores start to bond. Pretty soon, they're hanging out every day, and slowly, their friendship starts to blossom into a relationship.
Little does Lani know, Flash is a lot less honest and loyal than he seems. Peter Parker knows that all too well, and makes it his personal mission to stop the new girl from getting hurt.
