"you guys really shouldn't have done that. Henry and his gang are gonna be out for you." The newbie said as he walked in the field with his prepubescent saviors
"oh they already are," Richie kicked a rock, scurrying to catch the group pulling ahead of him.
"welcome to the Loser's club."
"so why exactly is he chasing y'all?" Mike asked as we trekked further into the clearing that entered woods.
"I-If it isn't ob-obvious." Bill stuttered out.
"Little boy germaphobe here said he smelled like shit and that he probably had a disease like leprosy cause he stank." Richie commented, adjusting his glasses by the corner of the thick, black frames.
"Oh shut up Richie you just know it was better than when you made that joke about his mom sucking your dick." The smallest quickly spat out.
"He just thinks I'm a slut." Beverly sighed.
Bill stepped forward, his hand encasing hers as his eyes rested on her gaze.
"which y-yu-your're not." he smiled, his words causing her to blush a million shades of crimson."what about you, uhm..?-"Mike asked and stepped closer towards me. i could feel my face heat up, probably because of the sun. hopefully because of the sun.
"-Stanley, Stanley Uris. he bullies me because of my family's religion." It was only somewhat a lie.
He nodded and I looked down, seeing his hand sway ever so closely to mine.
I smiled but quickly fixed myself, resisting the urge to purposely brush my hand against his.
I sighed, this heat really was getting to me.
"what's wrong Stan?" Richie asked from next to me.
"nothing." i replied.
Mike nudged my arm with his elbow.
"something." he stated.i shook my head, stray curls falling over my eyes as I tried to hide.
"it's just hot that's all." i inhaled and began to pull on my shirt creating a nice breeze.
"yeah I guess it is pretty hot." Mike flopped back onto the rock he was sitting on. We'd finally reached the quarry where we would stop and hang out for a bit.
"okay well i'm gonna go cool my legs off." Beverly said, beginning to discard her shoes and socks. Bill snapped and -as if instinctively- followed her into the shallow water of the swimming hole.
"may as well join them." Richie said and trudged over, pushing his glasses up again. Eddie sighed and copied his actions, giving into the scorching heat.
I held my hands on my knees and squinted at the brightness of the day. The 4 in the water had started a chicken fight. I turned my attention over to Mike. I couldn't help but stare at his features. His skin had such a breathtaking glow to it, the way his jaw flexed whenever he took a deep breath, even his lips were full, plushy, and they looked soft...
He raised himself back up and i turned away hurriedly in a desperate attempt to control my heating face.
"you're just a little bit antsy aren't ya Stan?" He smiled. For a boy who didn't have the best access to hygienic opportunities his teeth were as white as fresh snow on a sunny december morning.
I nodded and placed my hand on my shoulder, tapping my index finger anxiously.
"Just take a breath and look around." he scooted towards me and cupped my jaw from behind, directing me to an open spot in the large collection of trees. i inhaled deeply and exhaled even deeper. squinting softly I could see a doe and her fawn striding elegantly through the great oaks.
"outside your safety bubble can be beautiful." he spoke warmly, his voice like liquid gold as it flowed so smoothly from the pit of his throat.
"just like you.." i whispered back at an inaudible tone.
"huh?"
"oh i didn't say anything."
