Box of oreos (Gunner)

You were very upset today. And you could tell you will be for quiet some time. Today... Gunner asked you for advice about dating. He confessed to you that he really likes your coworker - Nicole - and he was going to ask her out.

You were mad. Gunner was supposed to be dating you, YOU loved him. You were almost positive that Gunner didn't even like Nicole - they'd always just get on their heads, prank and drive each other crazy... even scaring themselves with snakes and spiders!!

But apparently, you were wrong the entire time. You could totally spoil it for him tonight and just give him some trashy advice that would ruin the date. But you weren't vile. You were very nice person. Sometimes too nice...

About a week has passed since that horrendous day and you and Tanner worked on some contraptions for REKT.
"(Y/n), can you go and get some Oreos?" Tanner asked.
"For the video?"
"No, dummie. Just for snacks." He said with no sarcasm up his throat.
"Oh, of course." You replied and basically ran to your car. You almost drove off, but suddenly Gunner ran out of the building and waved at you to wait for him.

You were surprised, but you waited and then observed as he sat next to you.
"Sup (Y/n), how are you doing?" He asked.
"G-good." You lied, trying to sound natural.
"Are you ok? You seem down." Didn't work.
"It's just a boring day." You tried.
"I heard we're getting some Oreos." Gunner said, rubbing his hands.
"So that's why you came?" Not that it comes as a surprise, but,.. you wished he came to you... not for the food...
"Well, maybe..." he said no more as you started the car and drove to the store.

The silence during the ride was disturbing. The only conversation you had was:
"Hey, (Y/n), what's your favorite Oreo flavor?"
"I like peanut butter. Yours?"
"I'm still thinking. They're all delicious!"

You pulled up to the store and as you reached the entrance, Gunner went his way and you went yours. You picked some Oreo packs for you and Tanner... mostly for Tanner, you had no appetite rn. As you stood in the line, Gunner was nowhere to be seen. Nor heard.
"That's odd." You thought, cause... you knew Gunner - it's hard not to notice him.

You get back to your car and wait for Gunner inside. You look through your phone and accidentally find a pic of Nicole and Gunner from a while ago. It was back in the day, when they weren't together and you were picking on them, thinking if these two were ever a thing, how ridiculous it would be... being positive it was not going to ever happen of course. And now... they are dating and it's not for jokes anymore. You could feel few tears gather up your eyes. You couldn't tell if it was with jealousy, or because you felt bad for mocking your friends, or just with pure sadness. Prolly all at once.

Then, Gunner runs across the parking lot with 2 paper bags in his hand. Thinking it was a present for Nicole, you didn't bother giving it a closer look. Gunner sat next to you, buckled up and you drove off.
"Did you get all the Oreos you need?" You asked. Gunner looked in the bag and playfully started counting the packs.
"I hope so, yeah. We're just feasting on Oreos today." He giggled and opened one of the packs. He offered you some, but you just shook your head. He faked offense.

"How can you reject Oreos? What's wrong with you?"
"I'm not really... hungry." You snapped.
"Hey, (Y/n)..." Gunner suddenly went from his adult-child mode to concerned dad-friend, putting the food down and placing a hand on your shoulder.
"What's happening, girl? You're not being yourself."
"I just can't wrap my head around things that happen to me lately." You said, feeling like your throat was stuffed with marshmallows.
"I feel you, (Y/n). I had some fails too, recently." He said in a gloomy tone.

You frowned. You thought Gunner was a happy man.
"When exactly?" he shrugged. "You have plans for future, you have a dream job, you have a girlfriend-"
"Well, not at the moment." He cut in. Your heart does a flip.
"But... aren't you dating Nicole?"
"We gave it a chance, but we didn't really click." He signed. You started to sweat and made a quick analysis about the dating tips you gave him the other day.
"Did... m-my advices... ruin it up f-for you?"
"No, absolutely not. I was actually going to thank you for the helpful tips. The date turned out amazing, but afterwards we realized we weren't meant for each other."

With your hands still shaking, you drive to the studio parking lot and meanwhile, have a stare at the food bags Gunner held at his legs. You wondered...
"I thought you even bought her gifts." You pointed at the bags.
"Yes, it is a gift, but this one is... It's for you." Gunner said as he handed you the bag.

*2 moths later*

You ran across the house with a box, in your hands. Sth delicious jumping inside with every step you took.
"(Y/n), give them back!" Gunner yelled, chasing you.
"Never!" You yelled back as you ran into the kitchen. Gunner was on the other side of the counter and watched in horror as you slowly slipped your hand inside the box, pull out single PBJ Oreo and shove it in your mouth.

"My babies!" Gunner fake cried, trying to reach for a box as you playfully lift it in the air.
"Come and get it, ya big baby!" You teased. The chase went on, until you were both lying on the floor, giggling, wrestling over a box of Oreos. You began to weaken and he ripped the box out of your hands.
"Yes, I won my precious Oreos back!" Gunner exclaimed in victory and pulled one out as you pouted. He rolled his eyes.
"I guess I can give you one for an effort." He said and fed you the delicious cookie.

"Thanks baby." You speak while swallowing the peanut butter tidbit.
"You know, there are things that are really worth living for." Gunner said. You shot him puzzled look.
"PBJ oreos are worth to live for?
"No, it's worth to live for ya, baby girl." He said and leaned down to kiss you.
"Your arms are like my home." He pulled you into a hug. You melted into it, but then you began to lose your touch on the box-
"But the Oreos have the second place." He giggled, then got up and fled with the box.
"Oh, it's on." You laughed and went after Gunner, resuming the "Oreo chase" once again.
