Chapter 12: The End of the Showdown

"Let's finish this, shall we?".

Reika's P.O.V.:

I was completely baffled at my own ability to fight. 'How can I even move like that?' I was impressed at my own strength. 'I didn't know this new body of mine, had this much power... Also, why am I so into this fight?!' I had noticed it immediately after starting to fight. It was incredibly fun, I couldn't get enough of it. 'Hah〜, I wonder how different I am becoming due to you...' I thought while staring at the blade in my hands. 'Well, in any case...'

"Yeah! Let's get down to it!" I yelled reading myself for his next attack.

Without leaving me much time to think, he rushed at me and tried to slice my legs, but this Reika could tell this time... it was a feint. She simply dodged the best she could and sent a counter-strike of her own taking Callum by surprise.

In the end, he managed to dodge... for the most part. On his high-level adventurer clothes now ran a thin but deep cut which was clearly leaking some crimson liquid.

"Ufffff barely got out of that one!" He said relieved while smiling.

"Yeah, I barely esca- HEY!"

While I was still responding to him, he had already started chanting... 'This cheater. That isn't fair play you know?' But it was useless, he had already chanted:

"[HELL LIGHTNING]!"

When he chanted, wing-like blades majestically appeared on his back made out of flames and lightning. It was absolutely stunning, he looked like a legendary warrior with those bladed wings. But to be honest... this only got me more excited for the battle...

Seeing this, I closed in again and sent several consecutive strikes with most of my strength behind them. In response, Callum met every strike with an equal parry or attack, which I blocked.

*CLANG* *CLANG* *CLANG*

With every strike that connected between the swords, a strong gust of wind was released, amplifying the sound of the swords clashing to the point where the sound would burst anyone's eardrums, but that didn't matter... 'THIS FIGHT IS TOO GOOD!!!'

I kept slashing away when Callum jumped backward creating distance between us. This was obviously for him to be able to chant... It was getting quite obnoxious since I can't use magic at all.

"Chanting? again? You serious?"

Callum simply laughed at my annoyed face, and while smiling he chanted:

"[LIGHTNING WRATH]!"

At that moment, he disappeared from my sights. I was completely speechless. 'He teleported?' But something cut my thoughts immediately...

"Behind you!"

I turned back to look as fast as I could, only to see Callum thrusting his sword straight at me. 'How did he teleport behind me?!' I parried the best I could but I was pushed back from his overwhelming strength.

"Woah〜 You dodged that! I commend you!" He said while smiling casually.

"THAT ALMOST KILLED ME YOU KNOW?!" I yelled to him, even though it probably wouldn't have even reduced my HP by more than 200,000.

"Hehe, would it now?" He said half-jokingly

"..."

'I always forget he can basically read my mind... Is he that god or what?!' (AN: reference to prologue) In the midst of my anger, I didn't hesitate and ran at full speed towards him.

"Wha-!"

The second my foot left the ground, my immense speed generated a shockwave, stunning Callum in the process. 'I attempted to slash horizontally in a difficult spot to dodge but I guess he's sneaky, huh?'
