Act 1 - Scene 1
Oldenburg - 1652

Two members of the royal family meet in the castle.  It is raining but a silence surrounds the kingdom.   Thunder can be heard for a split second before disappearing.

Seraphine: Good evening my fine sir;
What a light in the lands of solitude,
That I wander in night and day,
To hold peace and help the people,
Responsibility is a virtue,
No sight no end.
You called me down to the throne,
Assistance you need I assume,
And I promise to be concise,
To serve the kingdom dutifully,
And prove the justice that is right.

Prince Hanns: Your speech is flawed,
A disappointment to no end,
My disgust smothers any compassion,
For mankind... at best.
And those who follow in the path,
Their footsteps burn throughout the golden stairs,
And leave an ash that spreads,
Like a sickness too ill to bear.
However, I must hold my thought,
And act considerably,
By putting some trust,
At the brink of war,
In your hands, my dear sister.

He holds a sealed document wrapped frugally in red cloth.   His face is complete stone but Seraphine notices a tremble in his hands.

Seraphine: You are dearest as a deer, Grazing in the meadow,
A fawn searching the world,
For more adventure,
That forever leads with courage,
And grace,
With an age never ending,
The great leader sings a quest,
That cannot be broken.
What is the task, my lord?
Obligation is the spirit I live under,
Orders will be carried out,
And never mistaken.

Prince Hanns:  The document holds,
The details of my will,
And the treasures that mend the kingdom.
As you an insignificant being,
No reputation or target can be formed,
Only innocence shadows your composer,
And dullness highlights your inspirations.
Take the document with deep wit,
And store it away from the sight of others,
Keep it sealed, closed away for decades,
And when the time is right,
It will be in sight.

Seraphine: My sir, it would be an honor!

Prince Hanns:  Good as it may be,
Content I am as a chicken,
Tethered to a frayed rope,
With no plan nor escape in mind,
As freedom will mean nothing to me.
Use your pebble mind with caution,
And influence others with your power.
I will be leaving now,
Take care,
And be aware,
That light can be attained,
If your willingness remains.
