Despite what the title says, this art has nothing to do with vine or memes at all.

It's to do with Steven universe actually.
(Also, lots of fkn research went into this)

The taller one is Black tourmaline and the smaller one is Cat's Eye. (While Cat's eye is something that HAPPENS to the gem, I just wanted to make it one completely)

Black tourmaline

I chose to go with Black tourmaline as a black tourmaline is more commonly found than others.

Tourmaline is more commonly found in Brazil and Africa, so with that in mind, I wanted to give them an outfit that relates to both African and Brazilian Culture in anyway I could.

No, I don't wanna seem racist at all with this tourmaline being black while found in Brazil and Africa. Please don't take this in the wrong way.

Cat Eye

Like I mentioned earlier, Cat's Eye isn't an actual gem, it's an effect. But in this case, Cat Eye is a gem and I don't care about logic.

Anyway, looking at this chart:

Shades of Blues and yellows are most common (a few are circled because it was for something else :p) so that's why Cat Eye is blue.

The Cat eye effect is around mostly in 5 countries (I forgot the name of two, but the other three are: Brazil, India and China), so I decided to only take two of those countries, India and China, and attempt at fusing the culture of both together.

A little explanation for the light coming off the Gem; your average cat has night vision to see in the dark, so I have that to Cat Eye, but it's a light to help others see as well as themself.

What do they do?

(Now I haven't seen all of the episodes, [NowTV And youtube only allow so much {you can probably pay for it on YouTube tbh} it's shit really {not the show!}] so don't expect me to get all this shit correct okay??)

Black Tourmaline digs for material and shit like that. So they're a miner (while under Diamond Authority still) [in all of the stories of Rose, they're carrying rocks sooooo]

Cat Eye was explained earlier, they use their light to help others see in dark areas. Cat Eye is also small as to sit on shoulders or heads to get out of the way.

Weapons

Black Tourmalines is as shown earlier, a spear.

Cat Eye was a cat paw with claws. I know, so fkn original. But it's because CAT okay.

"But how can Cat Eye have a paw when there isn't a gem on their hand?!"

WORRY NOT! I HAVE A SOLUTION! Al she fkn does is place her hand on her gem and the paw builds around it.

Connections to each other

Well, Cat Eye used to love goofing around and being mischievous (sadly, no knocking things of desks). And it just so happens that one day, the wrong gem saw it and starting chasing Cat (Eye, just gonna call her Cat for short). Cat ran behind our Beloved Tourmaline, so now the opposing gem is like "this ur Cat Eye? Well, keep it under control" and Jazz like that while Cat Eye isn't actually Tourmaline's at all.
The two end up bonding, Cat Eye still being a lil Git the entire time however.
One day, Cat Eye runs off and of course, Tourmaline chases after. Both getting lost.

Cat Eye ended up traveling back and forth from India and China while Tourmaline joined a tribe in Africa once she believe that she's lost Cat for good.

Worry not! For they have a fusion!!

Cat's Eye Tourmaline (it's a real thing, look it up). While CET looks like this here, a real CET is more black and less purple and blue.
The additional body part (like what all fusions have) is a third leg (almost like a tail)
