The Ninth Letter

Dear James,

I've been spending more time with Chris and Seb. I don't believe you've noticed. Your kaleidoscopic hazel eyes with the swirls of various colours have been too focused on the red haired beauty. But I understand.

I knew we were never meant to be, and that's okay. Seb told me he's gay a few days ago. I feel a lot less alone now, he's also been pining for a heterosexual man who has barely noticed him. Knowing that there are people similar to me is life changing, I feel somewhat normal.

Maybe one day being a homosexual in Scotland won't be a criminal offence, maybe one day people like me won't be judged and prejudiced against. If that day comes, I'll write a fictional book, and I'll make sure that you appear somehow- I think your character will be named Aaron.

I hope you're enjoying your time with Lily. I hope you still have time to play wizard chess with us tonight, though.
