Gavin and I were partners in investigating crimes, being quite successful together.
But today..

"Gavin!"
I shouted out loud, shooting with my gun to try and cover him.

Today was a day we had a few more problems to deal with.
"(Y/N), go and hide before you get shot!"
Gavin replied while continuing to shoot at the enemies as well.

"HQ, heavy fire downtown, evacuate area, send reinforcement."
I informed the HQ through my portable radio system.

Suddenly, I saw how Gavin teetered, stumbling over something just to fall down.
"Gavin..!"
I ran up to him while defending myself from the bullets shot at me by trying to go behind cover.

I pulled Gavin behind a pillar, observing him to see if he got shot. Ha was unconscious.
He didn't get shot, but.. there was something on his neck.

I pulled it out, realising it was something that poisoned him, hopefully only sedate.

I threw the pamphlet away, looking around the pillar to see the enemies retreating.
I felt a little bit dizzy, realising I might got shot as well.

I touched my neck to check whether I was right, feeling something being there as well.
I pulled it out, realising it's the same thing that I previously pulled out of Gavin's neck.

"Shit, I hope backup is on their way.."
I muttered, leaning against the pillar with Gavin in my arms.

My eyes started to feel heavy, my mind went completely blank, my sight turned pitch black.

"(Y/N).. (Y/N)..!"
A familiar voice resounded, causing me to open my eyes before the person spoke up again.
"Finally.. what happened?!"

I looked into the direction where the voice came from, seeing it was Gavin, awake and alive.

"We got.. poisoned.. causing us to get unconscious, I think."
I explained to him while observing the room. It was a blunt room, nothing special about it, except for there were no windows.
"Seems like we got abducted.."
Gavin thought out loud.

"So backup didn't manage to get there in time.."
I added to Gavins thought.

"Why the fuck would they-"
Gavin was interrupted by a bright light shining at us from ahead.

"Detective Reed and Detective (L/N), working at the DPD."

"These are no secrets."
I sneered, rolling my eyes in annoyance.
"Don't act invincible, Miss (L/N). I could shoot you anytime."
The unknown voice resounded again, walking in front of the light.
