"Oh really?" I snap, standing. Shoving my face into his, I snarl. "I, Casmoke, reject yo-" and my voice catches. I fight for control but quickly loose to my wolf. I've never lost control before.

From the backseat of my mind, I watch as she interacts with Zev. "Hello Zev, I am the wolf."

"Hello, Casmoke's wolf," he responds, his voice obviously seething.

"You're not very smart," My wolf comments. "You really shouldn't challenge her like that. I've never had to take over before like this."

"Why'd you never tell her you were an alpha?" Zev asks.

"She's stubborn. If she thinks something is impossible she'll push it to the recesses of her mind where she doesn't remember. I told her we were an alpha, she just didn't want to believe," my wolf says.

Suddenly the memory hits me. It was years before my parents had died. She had just started expressing feelings to me, she'd been later than most kid's wolves were. Strangely something that is common to alpha wolves. The first idea she'd expressed to me was that I was an alpha.

Once I come to my sense from the flashback, I slam to the front of my consciousness, quickly regaining control. As soon as I have control I fall back into my bed. It is surprisingly exhausting to fight one's wolf, much like fighting yourself. When Zev notices that I've regained control and his eyes begin to glow.

"You tried to reject me," he accuses, the hurt clear in his tone and posture.

"So what?" I snap, clutching onto my elbow while my other hand rests in my lap.

As I've become accustomed to, he pushes his face into my neck. After a few minutes have passed, I begin to wonder if he ever intends to move. My wish is granted, but not how I was hoping. He pushes me down on my bed and hovers himself over me, still with his face nestled into my neck. I let my arms go loose at my sides and contemplate my choices.

As I'm thinking, I suddenly realize my arms are around him, my hands underneath the fabric of his shirt. The contact is deliciously satisfying. Oh, my wolf needs to step back, I am not prepared to be marked nor mated. I yank my hands away and detect the scent of blood.

"Oh my goddess! I did not mean to do that," I exclaim, worried and apologetic.

I try and look at Zev but am blocked by his stillness. Out of the corner of my eye, however, I notice that his eyes are half-closed and glowing brightly. When I catch the slightest scent of lust coming from him, it jolts me into action. After a bit of a struggle, I shove him off of me and scramble back away from him.

"Don't mark me," I command.

Zev stares down at me, having risen up to his full height. I stare right back at him but don't make a move to make myself appear more intimidating. We just stay there in a standoff, for I don't know how long. We're finally snapped out of our staring when there is a rap at the door. Both of our heads turn in the direction of the sound, which leaves an uncomfortable silence in its wake.

I scramble up after a moment and open the door. Standing there is my Luna and Leon. My wolf bristles in the back of my mind about them interrupting us, but I drive her back.

"Hello, Luna, Leon, what may I do to help you?" I inquire politely.

"We, well I, need to talk to you about your wolf," my Luna answers. Obviously Leon is meant as emotional support, being mine or hers I do not yet know.

"Ah, I have a visitor at the moment, but you may come in," I say, opening the door the rest of the way, allowing them to see, and walk, into the room.
