Unexpected Love

Chapter 1

  Two girls walk down a sidewalk in somewhere New York.

"Are you sure you don't want to come with me?" The with a golden blond hair wines to her friend.

"Yes, I'm sure, Alice." The girl with brunette hair replies.

"But it's only one drink! And my boyfriend is driving. So I won't be driving. I swear!" Alice pulls on her arm, begging the girl to go with her.

"I'm not 21 yet, so no." The girl tilts her head down slightly.

"Oh come on! Call it an early birthday party!"

The girl stops and looks at Alice. She smiles at her, "I know what you are trying to do..."

Alice sighs, "Well! You need to get your mind off of it." Alice hugs her, "Do you know when he is released from prison?"

The girl wraps her arms around Alice, "In a few months. And when that day comes, who knows what would happen."

Alice pulls away from the hug, "Stop it! He won't come after you! And if he does, my boyfriend will beat him up! I know Asher will beat him up for you!"

The girl tilts her head down again, "I know he will. That's just the problem. I need to deal with him myself. Not Asher and not you. Just me. And I'll be ready when he comes."

"Oh, I hate it when you say things like that!" Alice shivers.

"Oh? And why so?"

"Because it kind of sounds as if you-" Alice gets interrupted by honking. A blue and black mustang run up on the side of the road and parks right next to the girls.

"Hello, Gorgeous!" A man, in the drivers' seat, cries out.

"Asher!" Alice exclaims. She opens the passenger side door. She then looks at the girl, "Well, can we at least take you home. You don't exactly live on the best side of town."

The girl just smiles, "Thanks for the offer, but no. I'm fine. Really I am."

Alice sighs, "I swear, you are so stubborn sometimes!" She gets in the car, "You just be careful. Got it?"

The girl nods her head, "I will."

"Call us anytime, okay?" Asher says.

"I will." The girl waves her hand to them.

Alice blows a kiss to her, "Bye! I'll call you in the morning!" She says as they drive off.

"Okay!" The girl yells. The girl takes in a deep breath, "I swear, they act like parents would." She starts to head home. It isn't long until she runs into a gang called the young threats.

"Yo, short stuff!" One of the gang members shouts out.

She tries to ignore him but he walks up to her and gets in her face.

"Oh, you're ignoring me now, huh?"

The girl sighs. She backs up from the man "And what do I owe the pleasure to see the 'co-leader' of the 'young threats' or should I call you Jeffery?"

Jeffery laughs, "And that's the kind of talk my leader loved about you, but guess what? You're the reason he is in prison!"

"I already know that. So did you hear? He will be released in a few months. I bet you're happy about that!"

"Yea, I am. And I'm also excited to see what he will do to the person who put him in there." He smirks at the girl.

"Yea, I have a good idea on what he is going do to me. And you know what? I'm ready for it."
