I watched my momma as she put on her coat and boots getting ready to leave. I know exactly what she's going to go do, I tried so hard to get her to stop; she just won't listen.
She never fail to let me know that she's a "Grown ass Woman".

"Ma, you really don't have to go out and do that tonight" I looked at her. " I have enough money saved for the bills and formula.

I knew she wasn't going to listen, and I also knew she has a addiction. This happens literally every night. Honestly it gets tiring but I love my momma. Her and my baby sister Amara is the only family I have. Pops passed away when I was a baby myself.

"Kane you know the rule when I'm gone," she said leaving out

" but mo-," before I could finish she had already left out

" I know she didn't just leave without answering me," I said to myself

STILL UP |1:30 AM

It's in the AM now and momma still haven't came back yet. Looking down at Amara while I feed her a bottle I can't help but smile. My sister is my all, everything I do is for her. I know one thing though, when I get enough money saved up I'm getting us outta here. I still have love for my mom, but she chose prostitution and drugs over us, while I'm bussing my ass working at the market to pay bills. Just seeing her let herself go like that really hurt. When she walked out that door let me know how it really is. I'm just gonna do what I gotta for me and my baby sis.

*door bell ring

I put Amara down to get the door

Hello Officers, what can I do for you ? ", I looked at them worried

I hope they not here to question me about Ren and his dope business. I don't want any parts of that shit

"Sir, Are you Kane Johnson? "

"Yea I am, what seems to be the problem ," now I'm getting even more scared wtf they doing here ?

"Listen Kane it's best if we come in and have you sit" , I let the officers in and made sure no one was watching, especially in my hood people stay in ya business out hea

"Is this your baby? , Officer Kelly asked

Nah, that's my little sister Amara... sigh

"Listen , I don't mean to be rude, but can y'all just cut to the chase , What do you have to tell me ?, I looked at them with a frustrated ass face .. like can you blame me tho

"Kane your mother was found dead around 11pm, a resident was taking out his trash and found a trail of blood that lead to the dumpster...", the officer sighed after he broke the news to Kane

Kane instantly broke down. Officer Kelly rushes over to him to console him. He remember having to break the same news down to his mother about Kane's dad. He felt for him deeply, he lost both his parents also.

Kane was on a mission to find out who killed his mom.. He knew just who to call.

Ight y'all I know it's been forever 😂 I was suppose to start this book back in July.  I was insecure about it but I finally gave it a try .
