Erika Pov

That's when I looked up and saw this boy 11 years old crying on his hands and knees by my dad and that's when it all clicked in my dad left us because my mom kicked him out because he had an affair when I was 13 just one year after Dani was born but at that stage they knew it was a rocky relationship I remember my mom saying to me but he left after I was 13 when my mom made herself to go to work because that's the year she had Dani and Dani was diagnosed with retinoblastoma and when I turned 16 I started helping my mom pay bills and at 18 I called my mom's job and gave her a break but now that I work for team 10 I called her job back and said she quit so I am in charge of the bills and Dani medical but why I was in this thought process Jake broke it out by saying

Jake: Hey officers don't take him he belongs to us

Officers: Relationship

That's when I said

Erika: Step Brother

Officers: Ok we leave him be then

That's when I got down from Jake's arms and looked into his eyes and said

Erika: Thanks baby for stopping them

Jake: Anything for you baby and are you mad at me

Erika: Awe thanks and yes but no at the same time I still need answers on how you found out and why restraining orders and all

Jake: Ok you have all those and much more information you want to know.

Erika: Awe thanks baby but let me go talk to my stepbrother now I will see you later right

Jake: Yes baby later I am talking to the cops why you do that ok

Erika: ok

That's when we separated paths and I went to my stepbrother and said

Erika: Hey sweetheart I am your stepsister you must hate me since I am the cause of your dad dying but you won't be alone sweetheart you will have me and my family but yours if you calm down and tell me your story

Stepbrother: Uh-uh Iiiii don't have a motttherrr

He started to cry I took him in my arms and carried him to a chair away from Denis so he doesn't get traumatized anymore where we are sitting on the couch now with him wrapped around me like I am his teddy bear and I said

Erika: Hey baby do you mind telling me what happened to your mother

Stepbrother: Iiiii don't know one-day Iiii saw her on her bed sleepinggg and I try to wakkke her up but she didn't wakkke up

Erika: Awe baby I am here now

Stepbrother: Thank you but you should hate me I am the reason why your mom kicked out your dad

Erika: Why do you say that baby

Stepbrother: that's what ddddaaaddd always told me

Erika: don't ever believe that sweetheart it wasn't your fault it was his he ruined his chance by cheating

Stepbrother: Oh okkkk thankssss for being here for meeee Erikaaaa

Erika: Your welcome sweetheart

What surprise me he hugged me until there was no air in me and I said

Erika: Can'tttt breath

He let go and said

Stepbrother: oh sorry Erika

Erika: It's ok sweetheart

Stepbrother: Where am I going to stay or who am I going to live with I am only 11

Erika: hmm I got an idea Baby come here

Stepbrother: I am here

Erika: Not you sweetheart

Stepbrother: Oh

He got embarrassed and I said

Erika: Don't be embarrassed I found it quite cute and funny

Then we giggled and Jake came and said

Jake: What's up Baby

Erika: Can he stay with us until I get everything sorted
