Chapter forty three••
Addison's POV~

School passed by quietly for the weekend and I avoided Jake the best I could. I didn't tell anyone about the bracelet. I put it away in my closet and I'm ignoring the situation even though I know it's not smart. I just don't know how I feel about it.
I'm not a stupid person and I respect myself enough not to be with someone who cheated on me... at the same time I'm human and I have a heart and feelings and I don't know. I can't let myself do anything I'll regret but I can't feel the way I do.
It was Sunday and I felt sick about it. I don't know what's wrong with me but I feel like there's always problem and I just want everything to be easy and normal but I know that's not life.
Want to go out? Pick you up in about 15?

Yeah sure, I'll get ready.

I went into my closet and grabbed a pair of blue jean ripped shorts with a red shirt and a cropped hoodie over it showing off a little of my stomach. I put my hair in a ponytail and added my glasses. I slipped on sandals and went down stairs to tell my mom I was going out with Josh.
I went outside right when he pulled up and got in. I wonder why he wanted to go out... oh maybe because we're friends good one Addison.
"Hey beautiful." Josh said.
"Hey" I said back still on the rocky side about Jake and everything.
"So I thought we could go to the pier?"
"Yeah. Sure." I said.
"Are you ok?"
"Fine."
"I know better."
"I'm fine Josh!" I snapped a little bit. "I'm sorry I'm sorry. I'm just in someone else's head today." I finished feeling sorry about my little outburst.
"It's okay." He said back and didn't say anything further.
Once we got to the pier we walked all the way down it until we were at the end. We sat on the edge like we did last time. We sat in silence for awhile.
"What's going on?" Josh said.
"Josh I'm okay." I said back.
"Stop that Addison! We both know you're not." Josh said.
"I just-I just... uhhh Jake." I rushed out.
"It's always about Jake isn't it?" Josh said.
"No it's not always about Jake but what's going on with me is so I would really appreciate it if you didn't say it like that." I said back.
"Then what about Jake Addison?" He said looking out in the distance.
"My present.."
"What present?"
"The one he gave me?" I said in a questioning tone.
