Zina tossed and turned in her twin size bed, struggling to find comfort and some well needed sleep after a long days work, but for some reason, neither one of them was coming as quick as it should.
"This is bullshit!" I pulled the comforter off of my legs and sat up in bed as the annoying sound of my ceiling fan whirring around in wacky circles invaded my ears. I instinctively ran my hand through my mini braids as I reluctantly climbed out of my uncomfortable bed, and waltzed to my bathroom.
I flicked the light on and ran some cool water to splash over my skin, in hopes that it'll calm me down and lure me into sleep. After that, I rotated my shoulders and cut off the light as I made my way back to my bed. I slipped into my bed and stared at the ceiling fan go round and round as my eyes finally started to get to heavy for me to hold them open.
A small smile and groan slipped from my lips as I felt myself sinking deeper into my bed which was becoming more comfortable by the second. "Finally."
clank.
clank.
clank.
"Z!"
clank
clank
"Come to the window, I know you hear me."
clank.
My eyes popped open at the annoying sound of rocks being thrown against my window, but my ears perked up at the sound of the voice.
"Zinaaaaa!" I reluctantly got out of the comfort of my bed and walked over to my window. I glanced over my shoulder to ensure that my bedroom door was locked and no one else was up before I rose up my window and looked down at my rude interruption.
"What, nigga?! Do you know what time it is?" I made sure not to yell to loud, as to not wake up my moms.
"So! Come downstairs, Zi. I miss you."
"And I miss my bed, good night." I scoffed as I reached for the lever of my window.
"Do it or ima knock on ya door!" I peered down at him and muttered a shut up before I slowly lowered my bedroom window down.
clank
"This nigga." I grumbled as I scrambled around my room to find some type of shoes to put on, to protect my feet from being cut the fuck up on the sidewalk. I looked underneath my bed and couldn't find any.
clank.
"Wait!" I yelled to him in my head as I grabbed a coat and stormed out of my room. I slowly walked out of my room and slowed down my pace as I was heading towards my moms bedroom. Her light snores would've gave a regular person confirmation that she was asleep, but me being her daughter, them snores only gave me reason to be extra careful and quiet as I passed her dungeon.
I peeked my head in her room and saw that she was sprawled across her bed with her uniform still on and her mouth cracked open with snores flowing out of it. I bit my lip and walked on my tip toes past her bedroom and downstairs to the main door.
I looked over my shoulder one more time as I opened the door and walked my way out onto the sidewalk. My eyes raked up and down his frame and I tried to study his 'fit the best way the dark would allow me as I approached him.
Even though it was dark outside and our street lights were broken out, I could see that smile and that was enough to get me too him. My walking slowly turned into a light jog as I made my way closer to him.
