Chapter 17:Virm's First Assault

So the Nines have been saved by what I hope was an unexpected twist! Although something is approaching Plantation 13 fast! Can Proto and Gaia defend their new home and family? Let's find out!
Proto could hear the sound of something approaching they're location fast, but what could it be? "Proto it's Virm's monsters! They have finally decided to attack once again!" Gaia said as she and Proto got ready to battle the large army of monsters. Although Heliconia's face began to glitch slightly, Gaia eventually she pulled herself from the controls. "Gaia what's wrong?!" Proto asked in concern. "I-I can't do this! What if I lose you again?!!" Gaia weeped as she broke down. Proto grabbed her shoulders and hugged her. "Gaia listen I know you're scared, but we can't run we have to fight okay?" Proto said as he kissed Gaia gently. Gaia nodded her head before getting back into position.
Heliconia powered on once again and got ready to fight as the monsters began to charge. Heliconia rocketed forwards and began cutting down the purple monsters in a brutal manner. Purple blood was spilled everywhere and Heliconia was covered from head to toe in it. Although the monsters were no match for Heliconia, they had numbers that seemed to never end! "Bring it you bastards! If you think we'll surrender just because of your numbers your wrong!" Proto shouted as he and Gaia continued to power through the enemies. Proto saw some of the monsters heading towards the Nine's Franxx. Heliconia cut the monsters off and began to defend the downed Franxx.
                 The inhabitants of the command room watched on in horror as Heliconia struggled against the monsters. "They can't hold them off forever! We have to do something!" Goro said as the situation seemed to get worse. Suddenly multiple com links opened on the display, which then showed the faces of the children. "Mother, Father you have to pilot us in order to help Mister Proto and Miss Gaia!" Delphinium said as the others nodded in agreement. "B-But what if something happens to your bodies while we're out there?" Kokoro says in concern, not wanting to see her daughter get hurt. "M-Mama Mister Proto and Miss Gaia risked they're safety to protect us! We should do the same!" Genista said with barely any stuttering.
                  Genista's words hit the the members of Squad 13 hard, their children really were brave weren't they? "Alright lets do it!" Zero Two cheered as the rest of the Squad 13 members prepared for combat. After everyone was ready the Franxx children powered themselves down so their parents could take control. Squad 13 deployed and rushed towards Heliconia's location to supply reinforcements. Once they arrived the members of Squad 13 set to work on fighting the monsters Virm sent. "Sorry we're late! We needed a pep talk from our kids to get out here!" Ichigo said through Delphinium in the com link. "Are you crazy?! I thought we told you to let us take care of this fight!" Proto said over the com. "I agree, your children's bodies could be seriously damaged by these monsters!" Gaia said as she and Proto continued to cut down the enemy forces. "Don't give us that crap! You guys are our friends! There's no way in hell we would let fight alone!" Zorome said as the others vocalized their agreement. Gaia felt tears threatening to fall, these children truly care about her and Proto this much?
                      Chlorophytum was currently firing on a large group of the monsters sent by Virm when they seemed to be forcing their way through. "Futoshi we have to use that attack!" Ikuno said as Chlorophytum charged up her guns. Chlorophytum fires off a powerful beam attack that decimated the monsters before powering down. Futoshi looked at Ikuno only to see that she was panting and her hair had turned white. "Ikuno! Are you okay?!" Futoshi asked as he sat her up against the wall of the cockpit. Suddenly a com link appeared revealing Chlorophytum's panicked face. "Is mother okay?" Chlorophytum asked in a worried tone as she looked at her mother through the link.
Chlorophytum didn't notice the monster that was charging her until it was closing in on her. Chlorophytum screwed her eyes shut and waited to be ripped apart, although it never came. Heliconia slashed the monster clean in half before standing in front of the mech child. "Chlorophytum take your parents back to the plantation! We'll cover you!" Proto said as Chlorophytum began running back to the plantation. One of the monsters tried to chase after the retreating Franxx, but it was soon face to face with Heliconia. "Don't you dare harm that child you bastard!" Gaia shouted in rage as Heliconia slashed the beast into little pieces. Heliconia quickly jumped back into the fray along with the other members of Squad 13.
The monsters numbers were starting to dwindle as the fight began to turn in their favor. The last few monsters were cut down and defeated, after that the members of Squad 13 began the mission of getting the Nines Franxx back to the plantation. Once they arrived the teens exited the Franxx and got undressed from their pilot gear. They all met back up in the command room to go over the battle that just happened. "Alright so from what we can tell that was all the monsters Virm sent." Nana said as she looked over the radar. "Virm will send more. Not for a while though it takes them quite some time to make more. It's not to late for any of you to back out." Gaia said in an emotionless voice as she stood next to Proto.
"What the hell is this backing out crap?" Miku said as she grabbed Gaia and pulled her into a hug. "Yes you may not know this but we have no intention of letting you fight this battle on your own!" Ichigo said as she joined the hug. "You and Proto are not in this fight alone Gaia! After all you have us!" Kokoro said as she also joined the hug. "Yeah and we are not going to let you fight this battle alone! After all we are your friends!" Zero Two said as she finally joined the hug as well. Gaia was in tears at the other girls words, they really saw her as a friend? "T-Thank you girls! I don't know how to thank you!" Gaia weeped as the girls tightened the hug on the princess.
Proto smiled at the sight of Gaia getting hugged by the other girls, if anyone deserved this it was her. Although there was something that had Proto worried, why the hell did Ikuno collapse all of a sudden? Proto would have to look into this once they were done here. "Our next course of action should be to get the plantation ready for future attacks and find a way to grow food since we won't be getting supplies anymore." Goro said as the others turned to face him. "That would be in our best interest." Hiro said in agreement with Goro's statement. Proto walked over to the group and put a hand on Goro's shoulder. "I'm sure we will figure out how to make this work! Although right now my biggest concern I Ikuno." Proto said as he faced Nana.
"Ikuno is in a very weak state right now so I would recommend letting her rest before you start trying to do anything." Nana said as she walked away. Gaia approached Proto and placed a hand on his cheek. "Proto, I know your worried about Ikuno, but right now we should all get some rest." Gaia said as she pressed her horn against his two horns. "I suppose your right love. I will worry about it tomorrow." Proto said as Gaia led him out of the room and back to the manor. "These children have proven that they wish to help me. It's time for me to return the favor!" Gaia thought to herself as she walked back to the manor hand in hand with Proto.
Doctor Franxx was currently looking over Heliconia's readings on the display screen. "Anything out of the ordinary Doctor?" Hachi asked as he stood next to the older man. "There have been a few spikes in energy activity, but that's probably just due to the fact it was Heliconia's first battle." Doctor Franxx said as he turned his attention back towards the screen. "What about the Nines Franxx? After all they did come alive during their battle with Heliconia." Hachi added as he looked at the Doctor curiously. "I don't know how to handle that situation just yet. Although the real question is what are we going to do with the Nines themselves?" Doctor Franxx said as he gave Hachi a sideways glance. Things at plantation 13 just got a whole lot more complicated.

Another one down! Sorry I disappeared for a while I recently started watching Kamen Rider Fourze and have been loving it! I also plan to start watching Sailor Moon Crystal, I think we have another Toku crossover on our hands ladies and gentlemen! Now what will happen to Ikuno? When will Virm strike again? How will the members of Squad 13 deal with the Nines? How will Gaia return the favor? And most importantly will Mr. Mittens show up again? Find out next time on From Parasites to Parents!
