Chapter 7

I love Ryder. I secretly hoped I said that aloud because he was sitting next to me.

When I glanced at him,he was busy typing something...and he looked really serious.

Should I make up a conversation?

But what if he thinks I'm being clingy?

I can't be clingy. I am not even his girlfriend.

But I really wanna be that one girl who changes him!!

I groaned.

Why can't he like me back? He can't. He is just too perfect to like me back.

A sigh escaped my lips.

After many thoughts about Ryder the class ended.

I gathered my thing really slow because Ryder is the last one to leave.

He will make a conversation I thought.

He got up from his seat and..

Okay. He will make a conversation...

And...walked out of the classroom as if I was invisible!

why?

Okay. Do whatever you want Ryder. I am not gonna run behind you like a kitten.

I left the classroom and found Maddy flirting [which Maddy terms as talking] with a incredibly hot guy.

Not as hot as Ryder.

I decided not to join Maddy amd walked past her.

She didn't even notice me.

I don't know whether I should be happy or sad.

I headed to the lunch hall. Hoping to see Ryder once again.

And lo!

Did my wish come true?

Yes it did. But something... wasn't right!

I SAW RYDER MAKING OUT WITH LAUREN-the star cheerleader-INSTEAD OF BRITNEY!

I stared at them and when the broke the kiss, Ryder saw me.

He looked terrified.

I ran away from there.

To the parking.

It was just so much I could take.

I cried my heart out.

I felt a hand on my shoulder.

I turned around and saw Jason.....

Maybe he knew about my crush on Ryder...

I opened my mouth to say "Do you...?"

He shusshed me and said,"Yeah...."

My life is a joke.

WHY DID MADDY TELL JASON?

Before I could think anymore, Jason pulled me into a hug. Please God. Don't let Maddy come.

Not that we are doing something illegal but I'm sure she would get the wrong idea.

After about 3 seconds, Jason pulled back and said,"No one ever said life was easy."

I cried more.

Jason hugged me again.

I cried to my heart's content.

After I was finished, Jason said, " Nobody is worth your tears. Don't cry over him. He is just a egoistic bastard.

"NO!", I found myself protesting.

"Uh?" Jason asked raising an eyebrow.

"I mean I am positive he has a good side...."

Jason snickered.

"Yeah right. Kissing a random girl even though you have a girlfriend. So cool."

"Well...that was mean.."

"Okay lets get you washed up. I will be outside the ladie's room."

"Okay."

I went to the restroom and wiped my face and reapplied my mascara.

"Cool?" I asked Jason.

"Co-"

Jason didn't finish his sentence and he stared behind me.

"Ryder......" Jason whispered softly.

I stiffened.

What do I do?

What do I say?

Should I act like I didn't see anything?

Don't be silly. He knows you saw him and her..

"Ka-" Ryder started but I cut him off.

"Mia."

"Yeah, Mia. Look, I know what I did wasn't right but honestly, Lauren kissed me I did not."

"Ok." I said.

"I don't want you to tell Britney. It might affect Lauren and Britney's friendship."

"Honestly, Britney has all the rights to know. I don't know who kissed whom but I think I'm gonna tell Britney."

I turned to go but Ryder grabbed my hand and told Jason,"Can I borrow her for a minute?"

I pleaded Jason to say no.

"Yes." Jason said.

Ugh!!

"I'll be around." Jason assured me.

"Look, Mia, Katie or whatever your name is. If you tell Britney, I will make your life a living hell." Saying so, Ryder left.
