When you are born, there is a statement written on each wrist. On one wrist is the first thought that the soulmate has when they see you. On the other wrist is the first thing that the soulmate says to you. There is no telling on which wrist each statement is stated, so everyone finds out once they meet their soulmate.

(Y/N) wanted to meet her soulmate, however, she also had a busy schedule. Sure, her wrists had phrases on them, which meant that she was going to meet her soulmate in this life, but that didn't mean she was going to go and chase after him or her. She had her school and work life to worry about. All she knew was that he was German since one of the phrases on her arm was written in German

She lived a busy life. She would go to school, then stop at home for a few minutes to change and then she went to work. She had two-part time jobs, one on school days and the other was on the days that she didn't have to go to class.

Today, she didn't have school, which meant that she would be working in the library, organizing books and making sure the self-check computers were properly working. She enjoyed this job, as most of the time it wasn't very difficult, and she was also able to find and read books whenever she was free. She loved reading literature. It opened up a new world of adventure that was much different from her own life. Whether it was a comic book or a novel about Nancy Drew, she was a big fan of all types of genres.

Currently, it was spring, so there were many types of people here. There were students that were cramming for major exams and there were adults working on assignments from their jobs. There were little kids playing with the toys in the children's section of the library and there were people walking around outside the library, enjoying the view and reading some books as they take in the beauty of spring.

Along with organizing the books and paying attention to the self-check computers, (Y/N) also had to clean up the tables in the library, making sure that no messes were left behind. Usually, there wasn't anything besides the occasional wrappers and unfinished coffee cups.

As she worked, she felt a slight tug on her dress. She looked down and saw a little girl pulling on her dress. The little girl was a regular at the library, always choosing books from series such as Geronimo Stilton and The Magic Tree House. (Y/N) had a special friendship, since they both were alike in many ways. They both loved to search for new books and read together.

They were also mute.

(Y/N) had gotten into a traumatic car accident, and she sustained an injury that would prevent her from ever speaking again. She would talk to the little girl using sign language, which was always fun since the little girl sometimes didn't know how to say the correct word in sign language, so (Y/N) would help teach her.

They both went to select a few books, and (Y/N) took the girl back to her parents. The girl gave (Y/N) a hug and the parents said their farewells. (Y/N) got back to work. These were the reasons she loved doing her jobs. The memories she makes and the interesting people she got to meet were enough to make her day a little brighter.

She had finished the first half of the day and decided that she would sit outside the library on one of the benches and have her sandwich and a book to read. She was in the mood for a book that she hadn't read in a long time, so she chose The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton.

She went outside and realized that, since it was later in the day, the place had gotten much busier. She scanned the area, looking for a place to sit when she saw a tree that she could sit under. It would give the perfect amount of light and shade and there was barely anyone near it. She made her way over to the tree, but as she got closer she heard someone yell to her right.

She turned her head to the right and saw that there was a man with short brown hair, with a curl on the left side of his head racing towards her. Just as he was about to run into her, he swerved running behind her.

"Bella, you have to help me. I don't want to run, and Ludwig is making me run." She turned to look at him and then back towards the direction he came. She watched as a blond many ran up to the two of them. They both made eye contact.

'Holy shit, this supposed Ludwig guy is scarily hot.' (Y/N) thought as she looked at him.

"I'm sorry for meine friend, Miss. He does this a lot." Ludwig said as he looked at the woman before him. He then looked at the man behind her. "Let her go Feli. Don't bother the poor woman. You still need to run 4 more laps." (Y/N) held up a finger, a motion for him to hold on a minute, and took out her notepad and a pen.

'It's okay. He startled me a bit, but I'm fine. And plus, 4 more laps? He just ran as fast as lightning when I saw him. I think that'll make up for 4 laps, don't you?' She wrote and showed it to Ludwig. Ludwig looked at the notepad, then back at them and sighed.

"I guess you are right. Feliciano, you are off the hook this time." Feliciano looked at him and smiled. Then, he skipped away in joy. Ludwig began muttering to himself, "What the hell am I going to do with this Italian?" During that exchange, (Y/N) was thinking about what the man had said. It felt familiar somehow. She then looked at her wrist. She gasped, catching the attention of the German man.

'I'm sorry for meine friend, Miss. He does this a lot. '

She looked up at Ludwig, who was looking down at her wrist. He then looked at his own wrists. One of them was bare while the other one had the phrase she said previously. 'Holy shit, this supposed Ludwig guy is scarily hot.' She blushed at the thought that those words were the first thing that she had thought about him. He smirked at her.

"So, you think I'm hot," Ludwig said, raising an eyebrow. However, she wasn't going to let him win.

"Yeah, you are. But I've seen better." She wrote on the notepad, crossing her arms and looking him up at him.

"Sure, frau. Whatever you say." He said, looking at his other wrist.

"I'm sorry if I am being rude or offensive but, is my other arm blank because... you are mute?" He asked, hesitating a little bit. She nodded her head and wrote 'Yes, I am. I have been mute for many years. I don't suppose you know sign language?" She smiled, thinking that he wouldn't. To her surprise, he responded with "Actually, I do."

He then started signaling to her. "I learned sign language just in case you were mute. I couldn't think of any other possibilities for why one wrist would be blank." She was touched. He had learned sign language just so that he could speak to her. With no hesitation, she wrapped her arms around his neck and gave him a tight hug. She felt arms wrap around her back and they stood there for a few seconds.

They heard a click and flash of light came from the bushes. They turned around to see Feli and another man with a camera emerge from the bushes. They both started running away. "Hey, Kiku and Feli, give me that camera," Ludwig yells as he began to chase after them. (Y/N) smiled, staring at the three of them.

She then remembered that on her other wrist was the first thought that her soulmate had when he saw her. She pulled up her sleeve and looked at her wrist.

 "Wow, sie ist schön."

(Y/N) had figured out that it was German and had learned what it meant a while back. It would always help her stay optimistic and happy, despite being mute.

He thought that she was beautiful.
