The next morning, before school I met Andrew at Penny's as promised so we could discuss a plan of action moving forward. When I arrived, I joined him at a booth in the back and pulled my breakfast out of my bag.

"What could you have possibly brought that's better than this?" He asked before shoveling a spoonful of eggs into his mouth.

"Not important." I answered." We need to talk about boundaries and what this is, really." Last night as I was lying awake in my bed I was trying to comprehend what his was but he didn't make it very clear as to what we were doing.

"To simplify, it's you and I hanging out occasionally when Kennedy, or any other dame that catches my eye, is around for example at school and parties, calling each other boyfriend and girlfriend, I get to kiss you one every now and then so it looks like you aren't a prude and I withhold my reputation-"

"Wait a minute, you mean the reputation Kennedy gave you as "a fantastic lover". I am not going to have sex with you." I stated clearly.

"That's cool." He replied." Anyway; you go to my soccer games, wear my sweatshirt around occasionally, and you're going to have to meet my family because trust me someone will ask and if I say no, we're done for."

"You've really thought this out." I commented." But it doesn't sound like I'm getting anything out of what you listed."

"Uh, you get to be my girlfriend plain and simple; that's the best perk there is." Andrew scoffed." I'm not going to go through with this if you're going to act this conceded and egotistical." I replied seriously.

"In addition to your terms you have to meet my family-and not because I want you to but because my sister saw you kiss me on the soccer field yesterday and told my mom-, you have to go to Sunday service with me, no canceling, and lastly, when this is all over and you get Kennedy back, you have to agree to tell people I dumped you. No mutual bullshit and no saying you left me for her because that's just a big a spotlight as being your actual girlfriend." I explained as I stuck my hand out. As I listed my terms out he wasn't thrilled about them but shook my hand anyway in agreement.

"Perfect," I stared before getting up." I'll see you at school."

"Wait," he replied." School doesn't start for another forty minutes. Have a seat and eat your breakfast."

Knowing there was nothing better to do, I sat back down and started eating my oatmeal.

"What is that?" Andrew asked me, looking down into the canister." Take a wild guess." I taunted holding it out to him.

"I know what it is but what's on it? It's looks bland and gross." Andrew answered, digging around the cup with the spoon.

"It's plain oatmeal, what did you expect?"

"No cinnamon, brown sugar, raisins? Anything? How do you live such a life?"

"If I wasn't in pre season right now trust me I'd be ordering myself a plate of French toast by now." I said." I guess for soccer players it's different."

"Not really; I'm supposed to be eating "healthy" but Coach isn't that strict about it so everyone just does whatever. As long as we score goals and not puke on the turf he doesn't care." Andrew explained." I forgot you guys are starting Pre-season, probably since your season doesn't start for like six months. What do you have to do?"

"Right now its 'on your own' and all it is a schedule of workouts we are supposed to be doing but it depends on event, work schedule, and how much you care about conditioning. If you're like me, I care too much and work it around everything else I'm doing." I explained." It's stupid to be doing it this early when cross country hasn't ended yet but it's whatever I guess."
