Scrambling on the sandy ground the first thing which Charles attempted to do was to reach up and pull the helmet from Erik's head. This didn't go to plan mainly because Erik had managed to roll onto his side and use one of his arms to elbow backwards. Falling on his back Charles winced from the sudden blow which hit him.
“Stay back!” Erik exclaimed and pushed his hands forwards. The others had slowly started to move forwards to stop them from fighting. Because there was metallic elements on their suits they were easily hurtled backwards from the manipulation from Erik. Turning his attention back at the missiles, Erik lifted his hand up and gestured back to them while his other hand kept Charles pinned to the ground so he couldn't try attacking him. Though of course this got fought against, Charles still reached up and pushed against him and even tried getting at the helmet again a few times.
“Erik stop!” Charles exclaimed while managing to push him away and make a lurch for the helmet. This just resulted in Erik punching him across the face. The attention being diverted away from the missiles caused them to implode and crash against each other again. The vast number which first appeared had diminished slightly from the few times Erik's attention had been taken off of them.
Taking to standing and walking away from Charles, who laid letting out pained noises on the ground, Erik decided space between them was a good idea. He walked forwards on the beach and lifted his arm up in the air, extending his hand he regained control on the missiles which remained. They righted their flight path and commenced flying forwards again.
It seemed Erik's attention on the missiles couldn't last longer than a few minutes. Mainly because the ricocheted noise of a bullet skimming off of the helmet caused him to snap his attention to Moira. She had started moving forwards with her gun aimed at him. She pulled the trigger again and Erik diverted the bullet away from himself. She took another step forwards and readjusted her aim and pulled the trigger again, yet again Erik diverted the bullet from away from himself. Only the one thing he didn't expect was for Charles to be standing up from the ground and for the bullet to go impacting into him.
He screamed and fell back down again. Erik was by his side in seconds. Kneeling down he held his hand over the bullet hole and turned his hand over when the bullet fell into his palm. Looking over the bullet he was only just aware of the sounds of exploding in the distance. All the missiles were crashing and burning. Large clouds of black smoke and fire spread through the blue sunny sky.
“Charles, I am sorry,” Erik said while lifting him up slightly from the ground, Charles groaned from the sudden movement. “I said back off!” He shouted when he saw their friends slowly shift forwards. They all stopped in their tracks and looked on. Erik looked sharply up at Moira who was also moving forwards. “You. You did this.” He said deadly serious while lifting his hand up. The dog tag chain which hung around her neck was quickly pulled upwards, it pushed against her throat with such force that it started choking her. She let out strangled noises while reaching up trying to pull it away.
“She didn't do this, Erik.” Charles said while looking from the struggling woman to the man above him. “You did.” Erik slowly looked down as Charles simply looked up at him. Lowering his arm Erik allowed Moira to recover her breath as she fell to her knees.
“Us turning on each other, it's what they want. I tried to warn you, Charles. I want you by my side, we're brothers, you and I. All of us together, protecting each other. We want the same thing.” Erik said while looking down at Charles, to their friends and then back again.
Charles frowned lightly and exhaled slowly, regaining his breath he looked to Erik. “My friends, I’m sorry. But we do not.” Charles said quietly and somewhat sadly.
Erik looked up at Moira and gestured a hand to her. She came running forwards apologising. She took Erik's place and kept him elevated off of the sandy ground. Erik moved slowly forwards and looked to the small group which were keeping their distance.
“The society won't accept us. We form our own. The humans have played their hand. Now we get ready to play ours. Who's with me?” Erik asked while holding his hand out. “No more hiding.”
Raven took a step forwards and quickly looked to Margo who stood holding onto her arm. She had landed awkwardly when Erik forced them all backwards. Margo looked at her sadly, she shook her head slowly.
Reaching up she put her good arm around Raven's shoulders and pulled her close. Holding onto her tightly she squeezed her eyes shut. “We will see each other again. I am sure of that. I would come too, but I don't know what I want. I’m somewhat on the sidelines, conflicted...I think that's what I am, conflicted.”
“I'll find a way of getting in contact, just in case you ever want to come too.” Raven whispered while pulling away, Margo smiled and gave a nod. “Take care, of yourself and him.”
“You have my word.” Margo shifted backwards and watched as Raven finally moved away. She said her farewells to Charles before stepping close to Erik and reaching up to grasp onto his hand. The remainder of Sebastian's group moved forwards too and stood on Erik's other side. They all linked hands and looked to Azazel who would get them off of this beach.
“And Beast? Don't forget, mutant and proud!” Raven exclaimed, Hank looked somewhat awkward and looked to the side, only he ended up looking at Margo who looked rather sad by the whole turn of events. In moments the small group had vanished and those left behind were allowed to finally charge forwards and see how Charles was.
“We're going to get you to a hospital.” Moira said while looking up when Hank knelt opposite to her and tried to stop Charles from moving. He had reached up to grip onto him to try and haul himself up, only this just caused him to grit his teeth from the pain.
“Charles, don't move, okay?” Hank said while putting a hand to his chest to try and deter him.
“I won't,” Charles said sounding tired as he just relaxed back into Moira's arms and frowned lightly. Tilting his head he looked around. “Actually, I can...I can't feel my legs.” He said uncertainly in shock.
“What?” Moira questioned worriedly.
“I can't feel my legs!” Charles exclaimed quietly now fully in shock over the moment which he had found himself in. Around him his friends looked confused as to what to say or do.
