Suddenly a man came panting and said acharya a great horde of barbarians are coming down south to sack the temple of god they have destroyed several gods and desecrated idols there please help the temple and he fainted
Suddenly there was an environmemt of fear everywhere then the acharya said the gold idol of lord will not fall to invaders buy time set traps i am taking the idol of god rangnatha with me bury the idol of goddess in courtyard
Then they set the stage by setting booby traps and sealing the sanctum sanctorum qnd then they sat ready for the war that they couldn't win but their victory was in the fact that idol was ferried across safely
Vellayi was not understanding what to do admist the chaaos so she went onto the stage and said one and all please fight for our god
A person said we are a village of 12000 with barely 4000 soldiers rest all cant even weild a sword porters,artisans,traders,etc how can we counter them?
Then vellayi said did u forget how krishnadevraya fought off the hordes how if humans never fended against the rakshasas we wouldn't be here?
But the man said ,"they come the capture and commit grave destruction, they will enslave and rape all the women and capture all the men children will be castrated or killed,what could we do?"
Vellayi said remember,"we are made of five elements and will assimilate into them if we die fighting then we will acheive salvation ,we can't defend the temple but we can buy time!"
So the village folk all stacked up weapons they could find ,meanwhile the preists buried the idol of rangnathas consort in the courtyard and planted flowers on that so they could do the deed
A band of vaishnavas were following sri pillai acharya who had the idol they went in temple sanctorum and the gold that temple had they stacked it in a way to hold the temple doors and then they took swords and stood at the exit to fend off their path
And pillai also along with 2 dalits embarked holding the idol in palanquin they fled the temples province
