Goodbye summer and hello fall. I managed to read 11 fics this month.
1. The Second Hand Unwinds by FullOnLarrie (51k words)
Louis works with NASA and him and his team have been working on a time traveling mission for quite a while. When it finally becomes time to execute the mission, it works, but something goes wrong. He went back too far and now he has nowhere to go but to Harry's, the man who he was in a relationship with during this time period and things had just ended. I really enjoyed this fic. It was so interesting and very different from the fics I typically read. It was well written and the plot really keeps you hooked.

2. Big Dicked Bottoms Make the Rockin' World Go Round by YesIsAWorld (4k words)
A short fic where Harry gets very tired of assumptions made about bottoming and topping and dick sizes, which I'm sure you can infer from the title. It was a fun, quick read.

3. Salt and the Appetite by SadaVeniren (14k words)
Harry is a blogger who specifically reviews BDSM clubs. He writes a review about the terrible experience he had at Club No Control. The owner, Louis sees this review and wants to rectify the situation and try to help Harry have a better experience at his club. If you like BDSM reads, this one is pretty good. I've not read much of anything that takes place in a club like this so of course I found the fic too fascinating to put down.

4. where your lips land by BriaMaria (12k words)
Wow this fic. Let me start by saying I love the poet Tyler Knott Gregson. I own one of his books, follow him on instagram liking his quotes and short poems. This fic is inspired by him and the author did this beautifully! On top of that, this story pulls from Louis' tattoos a lot which was another wonderful element to this fic. Louis lives in Montana as a poet. He meets a boy, definitely not from around here. Cue the love story. Love Love Love.

5. Not the Desperate Type by lululawrence (6k words)
Short and comical fic where Louis keeps hearing noises from the apartment above his. Sadly, the noises only seem to last for a few minutes and Louis can't help but pity the guy who seems to be having sex that doesn't last longer than ten minutes tops.

Harry returns to London for the first time in five years. He's secretly hoping to possibly rekindle his romance with his ex Louis. Sadly, Harry finds out that everyone has moved on and he's the one sadly still living in the past. This story is told in both present time and flashbacks, which as we should know by now, I really enjoy that element in a fic.

7. Whatever Makes You Happiest in the World by Still_Dreamin (6k words)
Louis is a huge fan of the solo artist, Harry Styles. He has been since he was in a band. Harry's helped him feel comfortable in his own skin. Harry's done more for Louis than he'd ever know. At the OTRA tour, he'd noticed Louis and Louis hung on to that little moment until Harry went solo and finally announced his tour dates. Louis pays for meet and greets and tour dates, ready to meet his idol and thank him for everything.

8. Amidst the Daisies by isolated (32k words)
This was a really sweet fic. Louis is trying to figure himself out. He's still trying to feel comfortable with who he is. He meets a boy at a bar one day who immediately catches his attention. He looks at Louis in a way no one else ever has. But he doesn't say a word to Louis. He doesn't the next time they meet either. Or the next. He writes the words he can't speak into his journal. Despite the lack of words between the pair, they grow close and something beautiful grows in the silence.
I always admire a writer who can execute a character who is mute well since that takes a lot more thought in writing their communication than it does for a character who can verbally speak.

9. a fire of devotion by gruberando (18k words)
Loosely inspired by Devil Wears Prada. (I watched this movie immediately after finishing this fic lol)
Louis applies for a job as an assistant for an executive of a fashion magazine. The CEO Harry hires him on, but after that, he's very temperamental and dismissive towards him. Louis is determined to break the CEO's walls and see there's much more to life than the four walls of an office.

This is the first part of the three part YouTuber AU series. I read all three parts, totaling 56k words. This was so fun to read. I watch Youtubers so that really made this fun to see Harry and Louis in those roles. Louis is a gamer and Harry is a beauty guru. Louis first hears Harry's name from his sister. He's never heard of the guy, has no idea who he is, but he makes a joke about him that seems to send the internet into a frenzy. When Harry uploads his new video, he makes a comment back about Louis and so begins the fun.

11. Let's Fall in Love in a Place You Want to Stay by embro (134k words)
I finally read the Tarzan Fic! I think this has been in my marked for later since I first made an ao3 account. I'm so glad I finally got around to this. This was such a wild read seriously. From the very beginning I was genuinely laughing my ass off. Louis is a model who is in the Republic of Congo doing a photoshoot. He gets separated from his team and finds himself a little bit lost in the jungle, which is already not being kind to him. He's tripping and he's thirsty and his leg hurts. He spots something in the trees he can't believe. A human. Another person swinging around in the trees like a monkey. A wild man who he later finds out was raised by apes. Read this for an interesting and well written story. It's really hilarious too.

It's incredibly hard to pick my top three this month because I really enjoyed all of the fics I've read this month. I suppose I'd say my top three for this month are Let's Fall in Love in a Place You Want to Stay, The Youtuber AU Series, and where your lips land.
You really won't go wrong reading any of these though.
