a pot of cactus on the porticos
Wasted desert on the road to naught
Like albatross shot on a gallows slot
And through the Winter the cactus stands
For fear of returning to the desert sands
But cactuses don't die in the avalanche but instead
give birth to its leaven ends
that survives on the veranda and
takes flight through the tundra till
it returns with Sahara's will.
