The day was here, the volunteers were to short on supplies and men and had to surrender. Even when surrendering they did it with honour, they were taken to kilamnham Gaol and were to be executed. I still remember the tears dripping from my face landing on the page declaring more dead, they fell one by one with honour and dignity.
