I take a deep breathe in. Alright, how bad could it get?

Why do I do this everytime? It makes no difference in how bitchy people are. I take a sip of my Slurpie and open the doors. I lean against the wall when I feel the presence of two boys next to me. Great. I position my body to a more stable position.

"Hey look, Logan. It's a new toy."

"That's it."

The two boys give each other a look as I slide my backpack off, hitting the one named Logan. Logan fell to the ground, his nose bleeding. The other boy goes to punch me, but I duck. I slide swiftly behind him and lock his arms behind him and throw him across the room. Everyone was watching and had a look in their eyes. One that showed a bit of fear.

I pick up my backpack back up and glance at them both from behind my shoulder.

"I don't deal with dumbasses like you two."

I start walking as a boy bumps into me. He has fallen and I look at him.

Holy shit he is cute.

I pull him up, strength still strong.

He almost passes by me, but whispers something.

"Seven Eleven after school."

He walked away.

Holy shit he is a fucking loser....I love it.

***

I walk into Seven Eleven and see none other than the boy from school.

I walk up to him.

"Hey. You really should make a better first impression." He says.

I give a small chuckle.

"Heh, you're one to talk..." I smirk.

"I'd like to think Seven Eleven is a great first impression." He replies.

"Well...I usually come here anyways. Not here, here! But um..." I sigh.

He smirks.

"Name's Lucus Stanton. Luke, for short." He tells me.

"Dawn McCarty." I smile.

We stared into each others eyes.

"You are really distanced." He commented softly.

I snap out of it.

"Y-Yea..."

"Why is that?" He holds my face.

I hold back...but decide why not.

"I have moved to six different high schools. I became numb to everyone and became less and less close to others." I explain vaguely.

He puts his hand near my eyes when he pulled away and I saw tears on his hand.

I snap out of it and wipe my eyes and regain my composure.

"Well, what about you? You seem pretty mysterious yourself." I say back at him.

"I read Moby Dick." he says simply.

I nod, agreeing.

"What flavour can I get you?" I ask him, pointing at the Slushie Machine.

He smirks.

"I'll buy."

Luke gets his own mix flavours and I fill my cup up.

We stay at Seven Eleven for a few hours before he comments.

"Wanna come to my place?" He asks.

I mentally shrug. Dawn, you live alone. You can stay for however long!

"Yea. I got no curfew." I shrug.

I grab another slushie and buy. We start walking to his house in the dark.

"So...we have reached the awkward small talk phase." I joke.

He bursts out laughing.

"I love that you state the obvious and just say it like it's normal."

"You know it. I am the best person you have ever met. I know~" I joke some more.

Once we got to his house I see...no one. No car. No parents. Huh. Sounds like my life.

I...am gonna be a dick and ask him.

"Where are your parents?"

I knew the feeling...except...

"On a business trip."

To think he understood...what do I expect?

I pretend to look at a text when we get in his room.

He looks at me.

"You can drop the act. I know you don't have any people to talk to."

That....hurt. I put the phone down and look at the ground.

Don't cry. Don't cry. Don't-

"Ah shit that's not what I meant."

He lifts my head up by my chin.

"I know what it's like to be a loser....ya know?" He smiled.

It was unnatural. His smile...was. Fucking. Perfect.

I begin the blush.

"Your not falling for me, are you?" He half jokes.

"Whatever." I mumble.
