Silence fell between us,
Like the night falls over the day.
We couldn't escape it,
There was nowhere to hide.
Quite stares,
Glances caught in between,
The moments of sound.
And yet, nothing.
You spoke not one word,
You smiled light heartedly,
But only when you thought no one was watching,
But I saw it.
The corners of your lips which turned up ever so slightly,
I heard the stifled laughs between horribly told jokes,
I saw it all,
And in it,
You.
